  1. Hello, After several attempts to get all my satas ports to work properly and to preserve my usb ports as an external drive, I decided to write here hoping to find some help ! I have a Xpenology 7.2 DS918+ running a SuperMicro X11SCL-IF motherboard with 4 physical sata ports and a total of 8 USB ports. I recently updated it to version 7.2 (Model DS918+) by following the tutorial => I then added a PCI-e 16x expansion card with 24 sata ports : TISHRIC TSR818 – ASM1812+1064 chip I also added an NVME M2 card with 6 sata ports : Riser - M.2 to SATA 3.0 This gives me a total of 34 satas ports (yes, I know it's a lot, but I wanted to be able to use all my old disks and not be limited in the future). As the DS918+ is limited to 16 disks by default, I made the modifications to support my 34 satas ports by rebooting on tinycore build. To do this, I modified the user_config.json to obtain the following properties: "synoinfo": { "internalportcfg": "0x3FFFFFFFF”, "maxdisks": "34", … "esataportcfg": "0x0", "usbportcfg": "0x3FC00000000" }, I then ran the command ./rploader.sh satamap I was surpised by what it displayed because it wasn't very consistent: For my motherboard with 4 physical ports Found "00:17.0 Intel Corporation Device a352 (rev 10)" Detected 6 ports/0 drives. I divided 24 by 6 and declared 4 for each. For my M2 NVME board with 6 physical ports Found "0e:00.0 ASMedia Technology Inc. Device 1166 (rev 02)" Detected 32 ports/0 drives. Bad ports: 7 8. Override # of ports or ENTER to accept <32> 32 ports detected with 2 bad ports. Knowing that I only have 6 physical ports. I declared 6 instead of 32. At the end, I get a warning telling me that there are bad ports, but I apply my config anyway and I get this in my user_config.json. "extra_cmdline": { … "SataPortMap": "44444446", "DiskIdxMap": "0004080c1014181c" }, I boot my system and all my sata slots seem to work (modulo the order of the disk numbers which are not consistent). I've read that I can redefine the order with sata_remap in extra_cmdline, is this true? On the other hand, when I plug in an external usb disk, it's detected as an internal device with disk number 17 (whatever USB port I use, I have 8 in total). And that's the subject of my message. How can I preserve my usb ports so that it's considered an external and not an internal disk? It must surely be linked to the wrong ports, but how do I manage them correctly ? If anyone has the right procedure I'm a taker 🙂 Here's the output of my dmesg command dmesg.txt Thank you in advance for your contribution
  2. Et comme donné dans le lien de MrOo : https://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-10455 laissez les disques en hors connexion afin que windows n'entrave rien à la gestion des HDD par Xpenology (OFFLINE DISK).
  3. Oura ! Je viens de trouver enfin la solution Ici : http://www.boerngen-schmidt.de/2014/12/ ... sync-disk/ En gros ouvrir l'invite de commande windows. Taper "diskpart" qui va vous ouvrir l'outil diskpart Taper "list disk" pour afficher la liste des disques. Sélectionner le disque à corriger avec "SELECT DISK 0" (où 0 est le numéro du disque). Mettre le disque hors connexion avec "OFFLINE DISK" Puis taper "ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY" qui va visiblement avoir pour effet d'autoriser de nouveau l'écriture sur le disque. Faire de même avec les autres disques. J'ai réussi à récupérer mes 11 To après 3 jours de recherche en écumant le web J'espère que ça pourra aider d'autre personne ayant le même soucis.
  4. Même problème ici Suite à un crash d'un de mes disques que j'ai retiré, il m'est désormais impossible de redémarrer ma VM. J'obtiens l'erreur suivante pour tout mes disques physiques (11 To ...) : " The operation on file "\\.\PhysicalDrive0" failed. If the file resides on a remote file system, make sure that the network connection and the server where this disk resides are functioning properly. If the file resides on removable media, reattach the media. Select Retry to attempt the operation again. Select Cancel to end this session. Select Continue to forward the error to the guest operating system. " C'est la première fois que je rencontre se problème. J'utilise Xpenology sur VMWare depuis maintenant plus de 2 ans. Je viens récemment de passer sur DSM 5.2 avec Xpenoboot. Si quelqu'un a une solution.

  6. Merci pour ta réponse. J'ai regarder le tuto mais il n'y a pas beaucoup d'info sur l'ajout de disque physique en SATA. Qu'on soit bien d'accord, tu arrives à faire fonctionner des disques dur physique en RAW en les ajoutant dans VMWare sous forme de disque SATA ? Je décris un peu la procédure que j'ai effectué : - J'exécute VMWare en mode administrateur - J'édite ma VM sous DSM 4.3 - Je fais Add > Hard Disk > Type SATA en Mode "independant persistent" > Use a physical disk > Device PhysicalDrive0 "Use entire disk" > je donne un nom au vmdk qui pointe sur mon disque physique 0 et Finish - Je clique sur OK dans le menu d'édition de ma VM sous DSM 4.3 et j'ai l'erreur "Internal Error" ! :/ J'ai recherché sur le forum de VMWare mais ils n'ont pas vraiment de solution ... J'ai aussi essayé de contacter le support mais ils n'ont qu'un FAQ de disponible [Edit :] j'ai trouvé la solution ici viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2134#p11454 Ça marche impeccablement
  7. Salut Moi aussi je déterre un peu le sujet ^^ J'ai Vmware workstation 10.0.1 dont la nouveauté est le support SATA. Cependant je n'arrive pas à configurer mes disques physiques en SATA sans avoir l'erreur "Internal Error" :/ En IDE tout fonctionne parfaitement, cependant la limitation à 4 HDD ce n'est pas terrible. J'ai aussi essayé en SCSI mais DSM Web Assistant m'indique que DSM n'est pas installé alors qu'il l'ai... Avez-vous une solution à ce problème. J'aimerai vraiment pour migrer à Vmware Workstation car les performance de VirtualBox ne sont absolument pas au rendez vous (perte de connexion, débit lent etc ...)

  9. Your drive should be unmounted by Windows. For the Connection, you can use bridge connection without problem, I think the problem is the MAC adress, use this adress : 00223208D63C

  11. I had it running under WHS 2011 on a Core 2 Quad with 4GB of ram and 2x2TB Raid 0 and Intel SSD for the OS drive. I had the VM running on the SSD and the data on the Raid 0 and couldn't get it to crack 15megabytes per second. I then ran it native and it's saturating my ethernet link. I think the problem is how virtualbox is handling the network bridging so I just gave up on it as a VM for performance in my case. Hi ! Same problem here, with practically the same configuration (Amd Fusion 2 core 1,6 Ghz, 4Go DDR3, 4x2To + 1x500 GO at 7200 rpm for OS Windows 8). With a gigabit installation, I not exceeded 20 mo/s with a CPU charge under 20% :/ Do you find a solution without migrate to ESXI ? Thanks !

Cela marche très bien, je fais tourner le media center XBMC en parallèle sans soucis sur une petite configuration 2 core 1,6Ghz, si vous voulez plus d'info sur mon installation voici le lien où j'explique tout : http://passion-xbmc.org/vos-configurati ... m-synology)/ En revanche j'ai un problème ne ce qui concerne le débit obtenu sur DSM via VirtualBox. En effet avec une installation Gigabit j'obtiens entre 14-20mo/s lorsque je copie un fichier depuis ou sur DSM alors que lorsque j'effectue le même test sur la machine hôte (Windows 8) sur lequel VirtualBox est présent j'obtient un débit de 45-60mo/s J'utilise la connexion par pont. Avez-vous une idée ? Merci d'avance

Thank you very mutch, this work really good It permit me to use my physical drive into VMWare and now I can use XBMC and Xpenology on the same computer It's possible to create a dummies Link ^^ with DSM 4.2 ? I try to translate my VirtualBox version 4.2 into VMWare Workstation 9 with VBoxManager (.vdi --> .vmdk) but I obtain an error 38 in Synology Assistant when I want install the system :s How do you do to haven't error and create a prebuild version ? Anyway, it's a great job PS : sorry for my bad english ...
