  9. Firstly thanks to jBark and ema I think, to get all working on 5.2 (if not already explained somewhere I missed) I've done the following: My ilo verson is 2.50 Sep 23 2016 ........ 12. Hi, Do u guys think it's possible to use the synobios from the x86 version (the one we know dont have the cmos reset bug) of nanoboot in the last xpenology?
  13. A noob question (sorry if offtopic): there is an easy way tu unpack / repack zimage in windows?
  14. I cant see the images (at least from ipad). Anyway i quoteed to find the url. As i say .... awesome setup! But pay attention because i dont think u can hot plug hdd in microserver (i have one my self).
  15. Awesome!!! One question: how did you make microserver bays hot swap?
  16. hi, i have the same machine, and with the current bios seem that the "fan issue" is gone. I think the only problem with the gen 8 and xpenology bare metal at the moment is the bios resetting issue (see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3289) so atm im running it on esxi but the performances are not the same. There are some workaround and maybe a way to fix it in the future, but that i cant say. PS if u go esxi follow the guide so u can migrate bare metal or to other system in the future w/o losing nothing.
  17. nice 1 i really dont think i can do it atm but anyway ur work make sense. gg.
  18. Maybe once is loaded the usb firmware isnt called anymore or it stay in ram (DSM OS copy itself on evry hdd u configure). I dont really know. Anyway ur results are very good. I myself thinked on something similar, but i cant access zimage so....
  19. Hi liukuohao, thanks for ur answer and sorry, because since english in not my "original language" maybe i express myself bad. Ofcourse i never dream to ask for a permanet fix. i was only speculating (not sure it's the rigth word) about possibilities and i'd like to know others opinions. best regard
  21. hi to all Xpenology community. Since i recently buy a microserver gen 8 i'd love to put xpenology on it (atm i have windows server 2012 r2 with a dreamspark license) but this bios reset issue trouble me to no end. It seem to be (imho) a problem at the boot of the machine due to all boot loader x64 based on DS3612(5)xs in general (nanoboot 5.0.3.1 x86 seem to work just fine but it's limited two 2 disk since it's based on DS214Play). I tried xpenoboot (many versions), gnoboot 4.3, nanoboot 5.0.3.1. They reset the bios also before the installation of dsm os (i mean the first time u boot the machine with it). I also know that there is some workarounds like set the user bios setting to default or run xpenology on vm. Now my questions: do u think the problem is related to the the "x64 build" or to the fact that the boot loader is based on the "DS361(X)xs"? 'cos if related to the x64 build maybe will be possible to "make" a boot loader x86 again maybe base on a DS with at least 4 disk. as far as you know is it possible to fix this issue in a future release of the current (x64) boot loader? thank u for your time reading and keep up this awesome project. best regards
