    quickconnect

I have DDNS set up on my router. I forward the ports that are required for Xpenology, example port 5000 is the DSM main page. So to get to xpenology remotely I go to www.mydomain.dyndns.org:5000. Or if I want to go to DS Photo I go to www.mydomain.dyndns.org/photo or www.mydomain.dyndns.org:80. Does this make sense? The ports need to be forwarded to the static IP of the xpenology unit.
  2. I would assume you are in Europe but if not, thismay be of interest. http://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/164734
  3. Xeon D 1520 should do it,but availability is crap right now. This is the new SOC.
  4. Dowload the package from the plex site and install it. The syno package manager version is outdated.
  5. I have the supermicro version without the marvell sata controllers. Everything works great.
  6. Jman, thanks for the hard work. Is there a donation link that is in English? The one on xpenology.nl is in some other language and I cannot figure out how to translate it.
  7. Well I guess my 5 year old linksys has that then. If that's the case they should all have it. Ddns works fine in and out of the lan on the router. I had issues with ddns on the server.
  8. No need for nat loopback. Do not set up ddns on dsm, set it up other router. Forward the ports to the dsm up from the router. Should be good to go from there. You should be able to use the host name in or out of your network.
  9. I experienced the issue as well but it just started working after a few tries on the same image.
  10. the i3 is hard coded based on the description of the box the image was made for. Do not worry, it will perform fine.

    Deluge Docker

I recommend the deluge docker below to anyone thats on 5.2 and need a simple solution for a torrent client with Proxy capabilities. https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/aostanin/deluge/ Works well, uses less than 100 MB of RAM and does not use much processor resources.
  12. When you restart the container are all your settings reset? I tried several deluge containers, and each time I would stop and restart the container all the settings were reset.

    Torrent

    You turn on beta packages?
  14. Would suggest using an intel board with intel network adapters. I use a C2750, and bought it because its all intel, and it has not had issues. If you read through the thread on DSM 5.1, a lot of people have issues with non intel SATA controllers and network adapters. Most of it is resolved now, but the problems existed in the beginning. I think using intel will make it likely that you will have the drivers needed from the get go. If you are a super Linux guy, you might be able to compile and add drivers to the image on your own. I am not a huge Linux guy though. No optical drive, since it will not work with DSM anyway.
  15. I am interested in this as well. I would like to have the capability to batch encode.
