No it will not work with the old loader for dsm 5.2. You need to use the new one created by Jun for dsm 6.0. Depending whether your board is uefi or bios you will need to choose the appropriate loader. It's a really good Idea. In fact, I have a "spare" core 2 duo that I keep for spare parts for my NAS (exacly the same board and CPU). Hi my friends! Long time ago, I converted a Core 2 Duo to Xpenology natively (no VM). When DSM 5.2 went out, I upgraded it with no problem. The motherboard is an Intel motherboard so the drivers are the common (i think), so I neverd had problem with it. I used XPEnoboot_DS3615xs_5.2-5592.2 with an external USB drive and it works well. So! in all the posts I see in this forum, it is always installed in a VM. Also, there's a lot of page to search for informations! So! Questions for you! Is the XPENOBOOT 5.2 will work with DSM 6.0 and what is the best way to upgrade? Is it safe? I don't care if I have to downgrade, as long as my drives are safe. Thanks! Hi guys I've updated my Xpenology from 4.2 to 4.3. I had some randoms crashes with the 4.2 so I wanted to try the 4.3. I've updated to 4.3 successfully. For now, the randoms crashes stop (yes!) But my IDE/PATA drives are not mounted or recognize by the 4.3. If I remember correctly, I did have to mount manually the PATA/IDE drives. Is anybody has a suggestion? Maybe I have to mount the drives... but how? Thanks! Yaaa4

J'ai bien réussi la mise à jour et mes données sont bien là. CEPENDANT : mes disques PATA ne sont pas reconnus. Pourtant, dans le changelog du 4.3, il semblerait que les drivers seraient intégrés, tel qu'au 4.2. Avez-vous eu ce genre de problème? Dois-je les monter? Il me semble que cela se fesait tout seul. merci de votre aide! yaaa4

Hi there! I've tried the xpenology 4.2 and it works almost flawless with my new Core 2 Duo build. But I still have a problem with SMART warning in one of my HDD (PATA). The status of the SMART is unknown. I don't care to lose data on this volume, but I care to see the warning each time I log in. Is there a way to "desactive" the SMART for one of the HDD? Je ne suis pas certain mais je crois que tu ne dois pas faire de mise à jour via le logiciel de mise à jour du syno. Il va probablement chercher celle sur internet, donc je ne crois pas que cela fonctionne. Je ne peux pas t'aider pour l'option de redémarrage automatique, je ne l'ai jamais essayé. Pour information, est-ce simplement un reboot une fois de temps en temps histoire qu'il se refresh?

Salut à tous J'ai monté mon NAS avec XPEnology DS3612xs DSM 4.2 build 3202++ (repack v1.0) et tout fonctionne à merveille. J'ai juste deux questions à vous poser. 1- Est-ce que l'hibernation des HDD fonctionnent sur votre NAS? Il est activé dans syno au minimum (15 minutes je crois). J'ai l'impression que tous mes HDD fonctionnent tout le temps, même si je n'y accède pas (pas vérifier tous les périphériques chez moi mais c'est ce que je pense). Alors, comme je l'utilise principalement pour faire des backups et comme serveur DLNA, ça me dérange pas d'avoir un peu de temps mort lors de l'accès aux fichiers. Cela me permettrait de moins faire chauffer ma gang de 4 HDD empilés! 2- Avez-vous un logiciel ou un extension que je pourrais intégré directement dans le syno pour qu'il fasse automatiquement des backups de mes autres machines (et non un backup du synology)? Faut-il vraiment que j'installe un logiciel sur chacune de mes machines pour qu'il fasse un backup à xx:xx? Quels logiciels utilisez-vous? Merci à tous! yaaa4

Bonne nouvelle (pour moi) J'ai une config qui s'en vient SATA (un core 2 duo usagé) que je vais récupéré du bureau. Je pourrai probablement le monter en SATA et peut-être récupérer mes disques IDE avec un adapteur (comme vous avez parlé). Je vais regarder les adapteurs et si c'est très cheap, je l'essayerai probablement!

Effectivement, ce serait logique qu'étant donné que tous les syno sont en SATA, qu'il ne le supporte pas. Je vais probablement "upgrader" mon NAS avec un autre ordinateur ayant du SATA, mais ce n'est pas avant quelques semaines et ce n'est pas certain. J'ai pas vraiment un NAS par nécessité, mais plus pour mon plaisir et pour moins me soucier de faire des backups. Je ne veux donc pas vraiment investir pour le moment!

Hi folks! I have a P4 with IDE HDD (really ) running freenas. I don't really like freenas and XPEnology seems to be a really good solution. Do you think my config will work with XPEnology? Bonjour à tous J'ai pas tant chercher sur les forums mais je le demande quand même! J'ai un vieux P4 avec plusieurs disques durs IDE qui roule sur Freenas. Freenas va bien, mais pour tout ce qui s'appelle plugin (DLNA, etc), j'ai jamais rien réussi à faire fonctionner (un peu trop compliquer pour quelqu'un qui n'a pas trop le temps de le faire). J'aimerais savoir si XPEnology supporte les HDD IDE. Les configs que j'ai vu du côté compatibilité parle toujours de matos beaucoup plus récent que mon P4. Croyez-vous que le tout va fonctionner sur mon P4? A+! yaaa4
