    Volumes

I figured this out. You go to shared folders and from there you can change the volume. Thanks for the help.

    Volumes

I figured it was possible to move the folders from one volume to another, i just don't know how to do it. I installed plex and want that on volume 1. I'm assuming plex uses the music, photo, and video files that automatically got created. How do i move those files to volume 2? When ever i right clock them my only option is properties.

    Volumes

i created an App volume1 of 32gb on my SSD and put all my HDD's into a SHR raid volume2 for data but i'm unclear how to install apps on one volume and have their data stored on another volume. I want to run the app itself off the SSD and have the media files etc for those app's be accessed from the data volume. How do i go about doing this?
  4. I've successfully worked through this problem and have Xpenology up and running.
  5. I'm finally starting my build today. I received a bad mother board and had to RMA. I've install esxi on a usb and compiled the nic drivers into esxi. I'm about to start the Xpenology install and its my first install. I have the bios configured for RAID but i didn't configure the RAID because i want to configure the RAID in Xpenology. I have a concern about that though. I would have to pass the hard drives to xpenology and let xpenology control the RAID and to do this i would have to have pass through capabilities in esxi correct? When i go the advanced settings and look at direct I/O configuration it says pass through isn't supported. I have the same exact build thats posted at the beginning of this thread. Am i missing something?
  6. I'm hoping to start my build today. I will keep you posted on my progress.
  7. Hey shinrei82! How your esxi build going with this hardware? I'm getting ready to attempt this same build. Did you run into any issues? Can the version you installed run on both esxi 5.1 and 5.5?
