  1. Hi, I would like to know if there is hcl list for xpenology or requirements list about chipsets and lan chips. If not, I think it was very useful for a lot of people to make one. Everybody could write its components or devices working fine. For example, I am looking for a cheap motherboard and I am not sure which works fine and which not. The same with devices or pcs, i was thinking about a cheap used asus eee (my requirements are minimal about quantity of disks in this case, i only want to use photo station and cloud software mainly). Thanks.
  2. Hello, I am testing XPEnology and I can see slower transfers than my windows 7. It is a virtual install with 1 core of i3 (2 threads) and 2 Gb RAM. I would like to know what transfers you get and with what hw (phisical or virtual) and how do you have the hds configured? Thanks.
  3. Hello. I am testing xpenology and its apps. I've installed all succesfully thanks a how-to guide. This install is in a HTPC, so it is a virtual install with VMware Workstation. I would like a basic volumen without redundant. However when I try to make a volume (basic), whole free space is lower than the all size, about the half. In the synology help, it tells basic type use the whole disk capacity. Do you know why this is happening? (I use a new 8Gb virtual disk for testing and only give 3.49 Gb free). Thanks.
  4. Ok, so nothing to do? Then, I guess Synology has release source for other plattaforms/architectures? The cpu architecture is the same that Synology ds213j, ds215j and more, arm v7

    Banana pi?

Hello. I've read some post asking about availability for raspberry pi, but usb transfers, 100 mb nic, ... it is not interesting I have a Banana Pi, with 1 Gb RAM, 1 Ghz dual core arm, 1 Gb nic, SATA2 (http://www.bananapi.org/p/product.html) and it could be very very interesting for private cloud, nas, download station, photo station... Transfers between 30-40 mb/s are possible with bananian (debian). Power consumption is 3.2 W with hdd working. Is it possible to run in this board? Will it be possible? The architecture is similar to rpi. If you tell me how or put in the way, I can testing it.
