Saw you title is written wrong, it shows DSM 7.1.1-42692 Update 1 instead of DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1. You might want to correct that.

Tutorial: How to access DSM's Data & System partitions
JakeSully replied to Polanskiman's topic in Tutorials and Guides
Do you mean you disabled SSH in service tab? Since that SSH does not affect DSM itself. Because i have had SSH there disabled and DSM works fine for me still. But i would say this method won't help much unless you are able to get the server to activate SSH on boot somehow. -
Tutorial: How to access DSM's Data & System partitions
JakeSully replied to Polanskiman's topic in Tutorials and Guides
You just saved my 2FA problem. But sadly since i used following command: btrfs check --repair /dev/partitionhere when trying to access DATA it screwed it up and i lost all my data anyway. But main thing your guide gave me access to system partition which was exactly where i needed to go to, so i could look for a file related for 2FA which i did and after removing/renaming it and then boot into normal mode i could login to my DSM again without the 2FA miss config error that i got after upgrading from 7.1.0 to 7.1.1. So next time if i happen to be in same problem again i will then know what todo and use your guide again! -
How disable 2-factor authentication ? (DSM 7.1.1)
JakeSully replied to renegadeBE's question in Answered Questions
I think you missunderstood or i just didn't write it clearly, but what i meant is i had to make new USB with TC 9.0.2 to get DSM 7.1.1 working on my server and now my account is stuck on 2FA miss configuration error and since i couldn't access system files before i was having huge issue. But now i found this guide It seems to have given me access to system partition this time so i can browse for file i need to remove. So 2FA becomes disabled. Update: link i shared sure did the trick, now i also found out actual file to remove to disable 2FA. -
where does xpenology store main DSM files?
JakeSully replied to JakeSully's question in General Questions
Update #2: I'm done, leaving xpenology since it just caused huge data loss to me and i don't trust xpenology anymore, after what 7.1.1.42962 did to my server. I googled for hours nothing solves my problem, tried to mount here and there bunch of errors no matter what i try. So only option left is to format 4 drives and lose everything because of stupid BTRFS filesystem. So i want to warn everyone avoid using it if you get on same boat as me then your data will be lost permantly. So never use BTRFS and this i have learned now to avoid from now on! -

where does xpenology store main DSM files?
JakeSully replied to JakeSully's question in General Questions
okay well my drives are RAIDED, so i'm going to download a linux ISO and make server boot into virtual media drive into OS and see if it let's me load the files, otherwise i need a way to get access to RAIDED drives. -
How disable 2-factor authentication ? (DSM 7.1.1)
JakeSully replied to renegadeBE's question in Answered Questions
i'm still stuck on this issue as well but for me i sadly have not enabled SSH. So i'm stuck where i need to find out where on USB the TC stores DSM. So i can go there and delete the file. -
Trying to figure out where main DSM files get stored, since i had to make new USB bootable with TC 9.0 to get 7.1.1 42962 working on my server since i couldn't get it working on TC 8.0.5 and now my server is nagging that my 2FA is wrongly configured and i need to reset 2FA but problem is i cannot access admin account via SSH to remove it since SSH is turned off. Only option it gives me next is full reset but i cannot do that either doing so will wipe my data. So one way for me is to go to following location " /usr/syno/etc/preference/admin" there i shall remove file google_authenticator that should disable 2FA on the account and i can log back into my DSM. But i have no idea where main DSM files are located since i went through whole USB stick and cannot find anywhere where it is. I hope some 1 here can tell me where it is so i can get this fixed!

TinyCore RedPill loader (TCRP) - Development release 0.9
JakeSully replied to pocopico's topic in Developer Discussion Room
Having a issue i ran this curl --location "https://github.com/pocopico/tinycore-redpill/raw/develop/rploader.sh" -O ./rploader.sh fullupgrade but problem is now when doing postupdate it complains that /mnt/sde1/rd.gz: Compressed data is corrupt /mnt/sde2/rd.gz: Compressed data is corrupt. So doing this does not fix problem on upgrading to TinyCore redpil 9.0 for me apparently. -
- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.0-42661 Update 3 - Loader version and model: Tinycore-Redpill v0.8.0.3 - DS3622xs+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - HPE MicroServer Gen10 Plus - Additional comments: step 1: Upgraded to DSM 7.1.0-42661u4 via GUI. After Step 1 update, booted into TCRP and run: ./rploader.sh update sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 exitcheck.sh reboot Note: It may find in TCRP when doing postupdate step, that it has found update 3. But ignore it and say yes. DSM will be updated to Update 4 anyway.

Hi, I have now tried to get DSM 7.1 working on my HPE MicroServer Gen 10 Plus but with 0 luck. I have seen 2 posts on this forum where two users got DSM 7.1 Successfully installed on their HPE MicroServer Gen 10 Plus. But so far no one here has given a single guide for this server so i tried to follow following users info: https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/62919-dsm-71-42661-update-2/?do=findComment&comment=287919 By having same TinyCore img 8.0.3 and exact same DS3617xs with Broadwell-7.1.0-42661. The synology finder detects my server and i come to page where i upload pat file. So i upload it and then it reaches to 55% and after that i get Error saying installation failed and it could not install DSM. Since file may be corrupt. So is anyone here able to guide me or give me a more clear guide that shows how to install this onto this server? I hope some 1 here can help me with this frustrating issue. Note for mods/admin: I could not find any DSM 7.x section so i hope it's fine i posted this in DSM 6.X section until you guys add one and move my topic to it. Update: Problem solved, it seems by picking DS3622xs+ worked alot better than DS3617xs did, since when i did DS3617xs it keep erroring on pat upload.
