It occurs to me my server has been chugging along, using the thumb drive as the boot device for 2 years....that usb drive may be the single point of failure. is there a suggested way to back up or image it so that I can make a new one if it ever fails?

followed all the great advice here, and my N54l is free of WHS2011 and running Synology 6.23!!! I had one question - I do see in the desktop that an update to 6.24 is available. Searching all over I see no references to 6.24 in connection with N54L, so for now I am not updating. I wanted to check to see if this should be avoided or if it was safe to update?
