  1. Which platform are you trying to build? Have you tried building the NAS with 7.1 and upgrading from inside the GUI? A lot of users have had success doing it that way.
  2. There are a few new ways to build a NAS now. All are a lot simpler than it used to be. ARPL is the easiest, but TCRP and M-Shell are also quite easy to use.
  3. Yes, it can be done, and is preferred by many members. Have a look here: Read through the entire post before attempting to build.
  4. If you have the processor on hand, it would not hurt to try a new build and report back whether you succeeded or not. I am assuming you do not want a power hungry build that consumes a lot of electricity. I wouldn't choose the latest most powerful AMD CPU because a real DS923+ only has a dual core processor.
  5. If you are using the latest ARPL, you can boot back to configure the loader and in the advanced tab you will find options to reset the IP address as well as other options for recovery.
  6. Have a look at this thread for loaders and platforms: https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/61634-dsm-7x-loaders-and-platforms/ I would suggest you read through the TCRP to learn: https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/62221-tutorial-installmigrate-to-dsm-7x-with-tinycore-redpill-tcrp-loader/ But the easiest way to install Xpenology is with the new ARPL found here: https://github.com/wjz304/arpl-i18n I would also suggest you try to build the DS923+, DS1612+ or DS3622xs+ for your hardware.
  7. Have you configured the bios to enable hotswap on all ports you are using? Have you disabled the ports you are not using? Remove the Samsung SSD and disable the NVME socket. Sometimes the NVME socket will share a lane with a SATA port. Make sure you have AHCI enabled and try the build again. If it still fails, try the new web interface or ARPL
  8. Grab the latest ARPL from here: https://github.com/wjz304/arpl-i18n and use that to build a DS3622xs+ with 7.1 or 7.2. Its really easy to use and users have had great success on older boards. The Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 driver is included.
  9. Since this is the English forum, I will respond in English. It has been suggested by developers and users to move away from the DS3615xs and to use the DS3622xs+ instead. The DS3615xs is losing support and newer DS3622xs+ is suitable for most hardware. Beside the network card issue, is there a reason you wish to stay on DSM 6 and not upgrade to DSM 7? What is the model of your motherboard? Do you know the model of your network card?
  10. Have a look at this thread:
  11. Did you setup a VLAN just for the DSM? Was it a guest VLAN or corporate VLAN? If it is a guest VLAN, you should change it to a corporate one instead and create firewall rules to allow the main VLAN access. I would just keep the NAS on the same network as your main devices, unless you don't feel safe doing that with an Xpenology device.
  12. DSM 6.2.4-25556 is a know version the does not work and you may not be able to downgrade at this point. Are there any apps that you use on DSM 6 that are not available on DSM 7? Most users have upgraded from the DS3615 and DS3617 to the DS3622xs+ and DSM 7.
  13. Your hardware is too old to build the DS920+ on. You need a Haswell processor for that model. Try to build a DS3622xs+ instead, which supports most hardware. Have a look at this thread for more information:
  14. Can you provide the specifications for the PC? This will help to steer you in the right direction.
  15. If you change/rebuild the loader, say to another model, you will be prompted to migrate to the new platform
  16. Synology's DSM is less intimidating than TruNAS in my opinion. If you are going to simply store files and stream media its a great platform. You can also do much more than that depending on your needs. If you are definitely going to switch to DSM, you should read through these first: And finally the Automated RedPill loader and Peter Suh's MSHELL, which takes the hard work out of building a loader. I would suggest learning TCRP first, then move onto the others. There is a lot of information here and the more you read and know, the better the building experience will be. Then you can enjoy your build.
  17. I did build the DS3622+ first with TCRP and it ran great. For the NIC I used : ./rploader.sh ext dsds3622xsp-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/tg3/rpext-index.json One of these for the PERC card (cant remember which): ./rploader.sh ext dsds3622xsp-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/aacraid/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext dsds3622xsp-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/megaraid_sas/rpext-index.json Peters MSHELL works great for the RS4021 though. I didn't try it with the DS3622+ but it should be the same since they are both in the broadwellnk platform.
  18. I have a 620 with an H710 mini in IT mode working with Peters Suh's MSHELL. I built a RS4021 and had the power supply issue at first, but it has been solved. What loader are you using? Are your BIOS settings correct?
  19. Connect a monitor to the NAS and post what is shown on the screen. It may not be booting up all the way. If the SD card has gone bad you will need to rebuild the loader.
  20. Did you recently do an update? Have you tried to find the NAS on your network through your routers IP table? You can download the Synology Assistant from the Synology Download center and use that to see if your NAS shows up.
  21. I think it would be good to know how to build a NAS with TCRP from start to finish, even though, M-Shell and ARPL are great tools that makes the process that much easier. @Don Keedick, should you want to proceed with the final steps you can download the .pat from the Synology Download center and select "Manually upload a .pat file from your computer". Here is where you can find the steps https://kb.synology.com/en-ro/DSM/tutorial/How_to_install_DSM#:~:text=To install DSM with Internet,Find your device.
  22. Have you tried ./rploader.sh build ds3622xs+-7.1.0-42661? @pocopico changed the build command to reflect the model instead of the platform a few months ago. I'm not sure if it was changed back to the platform, but that is the error I got until I did my build with the model.
  23. Try your build using the DS3622xs+ instead of the DS3615xs. The DS3622xs+ is better suited for most hardware.
  24. Try these commands: ./rploader.sh update sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate ds3622xsp-7.1.1-42962 exitcheck.sh reboot
