  1. I've got two machines 1. is a intel with dual 5690 cpu the other is a amd 5800, both are running proxmox 7.0. Did a redpill install on the amd chose host computer pretty much base things. The install was for a DS3615xs and all went well. At this point everything for the most part is up and running fine, using harddrive passthrough I have 4 drives up and working and holding test data. Went to do a install on the intel machine and have seen some very unexpected results and was hoping someone could explain it. Did the redpill setup just like the amd, chose the DS3615xs and did everything just like I had done with the amd. The vm boots and loads and looks like it should be loading the DS3615xs but when I do the find.sysnology it comes up as DS918+, don't know why and have reloaded this several times. I believe that some of this might come from the fact that the amd has a lsi-9300 8-port card and the intel is using a adaptec 79065(i think) raid card in it mode. Any way i've included two files here if anyone what's to have a look. Synology Web Assistant.pdf boot seq.txt

    Proxmox

I've been able to load DSM7.0 on my proxmox machine. It is currently using 4 disk with hardware passthrough. I have a lsi 9300 hba that I would like to passthrough which raises a couple of questions. When I passthrough the lsi hba tinycore will not start, it starts fine without the hba passed through. Why? If I understand the way this is working when redpill starts it looks at all hardware and then try's to load the needed modules(is this correct) which is why I need to have the lsi hba loaded during the tinycore part of the load in order for redpill to load it for the DSM.
  3. Wondering how to get around the 6 sata drive. When assigning drives to vm (DS3615xs) the nas shows it can use up to 12 drives. When sending the drives to the vm it cannot accept anything past sata5. Tried assigning as scsi but the 3615 does not accept scsi. Just wondering if any one has a work around?
