can someone post a guide on how to install this for us deadly people that are not linux experts -
i just used the 1.04b on an HP Gen7 and it wont show up on synology assisten seems like there is no network driver for this device

i tried this methoed typing c and enter the dos and this command wont help.

is there anyway to get the DS3617xs 1.02b to work with the n54l ?

there is just one last thing it is being recognized as disk 6 and the dsm says 11 disk available i would like dsm to have 5 disk available and the 5 disk being recognized as disk 5 and not disk 6 i think it has something to do with sataportmap i have tried with 5 and 1 but both recognized it as disk 6

i finally figured it out had to set Sata ID Combined Mode to Disabled Enable OnChip Sata Channel, OnChip IDE Type to IDE SATA ESP and SATA Power on all PORT to Enabled. and now its working with 5 drives thank you.

did you replace the ramdisk file ?

just tried flashing the modded bios stil have the same problem.. and i have just tried installing a new HDD and reinstall DSM_DS3615xs_8451 and stil same problem cant find disk 5

you got a n54l to ? Edit : just looked in my grub and its also SataPortMap=1

yes it is detected in the bios but i think the n54l has 2 controllers so maybe the SataPortMap should be changed but im not sure wich number would fit this.

that didnt help stil cant view the disk 5

im trying to get 5 disk to work in the hp n54l im running DSM 6.0.2-8451. bios mode is Sata mode is IDE. it only detect 4 disk and not the other one that ive connected with the extra sata port on the board.

thats not was i was asking about i know i can set it up on no ip aswell but i like the futures working like an original synology.

i updated also succesfully my n54l to dsm 6 update 2 with no problem changed the vid / pid and sn and mac but quick connect no longer works and the sn and mac is correct. i used http://quickconnector.orgfree.com/index.php any sugestions ?

HI Have it working on a G7. Did not update to update 2 though. Did not do anything special other then using the bare metal mixed boot loader (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20216&start=90#p73344) and copy of the fixed ramdisk. Will try the upgrade to update 2 shortly an report back wich ramdisk did you use to get it running on gen7 ?

have you guys tried to install this since yesterday i cant get any image to work anymore with gen8 was working fine 3 days ago and now i get error probable corruption (13)

i have succesfully upgraded to newest dsm on HP Gen7 but the server refuse to create any drive and shuts off the controller cause it detects Abnormality and shuts the drives off. i cant seem to create any raid and the server shuts down the controller.. but the installation whent fine with no errors. but also the wierd thing is that there is no zImage.lzma its stil looks like its using the old methoed on 5.2 version and also the same syslinux.cfg file i have made a video of it.

how do i edit your serial number and mac adresse sys file to change it I did find out how to Mount the drive and change the serial number and mac adresse but even though i cant get Quick connect to work i tried both sn= and costum_sn but with no succes everything is correct but quick connect just dont work
