  1. @Orphée just to inform you that, the newest DSM 7.2.1-69057 rs3621xs+ will cease to work/not to be network-reachable if I run this script on boot up. Don't get me wrong, this is not a complain.
  2. sure of course, I am not asking for 100% guarantee. Dont get me wrong. What I meant is, can I assume your previously stated "mpt3sas/dsm7.2 warning" as "fixed"?
  3. ok... it seems strange that the 7.2 loader was only built last night, and there was no entry in the scheduler. Anyway, thanks for your kind help of making the ever-improving m-shell, much appreciated.
  4. Hi Peter, based on your reply, can I safely assume that mpt3sas module has no issue with dsm7.2 when using your latest m-shell?
  5. Hi Peter, another question, is there anyway to load igc.ko into your version of TCRP? I attempt to install 7.2 using your latest TCRP m-shell on an i225/226 based N5105 ITX board. Booting up with TCRP is fine, but without network. Thanks for your answer in advance.
  6. It generated with the following error: But the scheduled job seems to be added successfully:
  7. Hi Peter, have you ever thought about making separate thread of your M shell? Say, like a loader setup assistant. Not only it is less confusing for people when reading this tcrp thread, you can also use this chance to write tutorial/documentation for your M shell and pin the first thread as a guide on your recent development.
  8. Hi Pocopico, happy to share some test result with you. Your updated rp-ext/acpid works well in "HP N54L 8GB ram; TCRP 0.9.2.7; DS3622xs+; broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962". However, it seems that bringfriend feature is incompatible with HP N54L. There is no HDD booting/no network activities after passing "nothing will be displayed here anymore". The following is the command I used: HP N54L 8GB ram; TCRP 0.9.2.7, friend 0.0.2 ./rploader.sh clean ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh satamap ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/main/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/main/tg3/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 manual ./rploader.sh bringfriend Unable to boot with bring friend feature, I force restart the machine. In next boot I manually select first choice 3622xs+ USB boot and then I can promptly go into DSM. To verify if it is my USB stick or settings or image problem, I try the same USB flash disk in a Dell Optiplex 9020, 32GB ram, intel and broadcom LAN; TCRP 0.9.2.7, friend 0.0.2 setup: ./rploader.sh clean ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rploader.sh satamap ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/main/redpill-acpid/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/main/tg3/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/e1000e/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.1-42962 manual ./rploader.sh bringfriend The bringfriend boot feature works fine and I can also enter the DSM. Not a complain but just feedback. Keep up your good work, much appreciated!
  9. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.0-42661 Update 1 - Loader version and model: TCRP v0.9.2.6 Loader DS3622xs - Using custom extra.lzma: No - Installation type: Bare metal - J1900 based industrial ITX motherboard with 12 SATA - Additional comments: Upgrade with TCRP bringfriend feature. I would like to use Realtek USB 2.5G dongle and dodo-dk's ACPID. So I install both extensions in 7.1.0-42661, build the loader in manual mode. And then enable the bringfriend feature. Firstly, going into DSM 7.1-42661, then secondly I upgrade to 7.1.1-42962 U1 through GUI. After restarting both extensions work fine and stable in 7.1.1-42962 U1. The following commands are for your reference, they might not work with your case. ./rploader.sh update ./rploader.sh fullupgrade ./rplaoder.sh satamap ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+ ./rploader.sh identifyusb ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dodo-dk/rp-ext/main/acpid/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/r8152/rpext-index.json ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 manual ./rploader.sh bringfriend exitcheck.sh reboot
  10. As an enterprise product, do you find RS4021xs+ strictly implement HDD compatibility check? That is, not listed in their compatibility list means it cannot be used? https://www.synology.com/en-us/compatibility?search_by=products&model=RS4021xs%2B&category=hdds_no_ssd_trim&p=1&change_log_p=1
  11. Thank you Peter, sorry my original question misled you. I meant what is the original SATA hardware of RS4021xs+? does it contain LSI 2008 itself? just curious what kind of hardware the RS4021xs+ using.
  12. Nice work Peter. By the way, do you know the SATA controller being used in original RS4021x hardware? I am wondering if it RS4021x DSM has native support of LSI 2008 IT mode? or shall we load the driver for it?
  13. Hi Cferra, may I know the command to remove detected extension before building the image? thanks very much for your help in advance.🙏
  14. (1) Original developer Thorgroup team has identified the kernel timer issue(?) but had abruptly left the scene before its fixed. (2) I really appreciate every kind of their fundamental effort so that now we can have different working loaders. (3) I pick up bits by bits information by going through all different posts, and really make my appreciation again on Peter's effort in making working tutorial. (4) Not sure why you want to complain "WOL doesnt work" in tutorial section, I guess here is not the "Developer discussion section", right? As long as no other developers take over the original project to fix #1, this will become the known issue, even though it seems unknown to you.
  15. (1)Temporarily block the Internet access before first installation, (2)disable automatic update after getting into DSM. (3)Lift Internet access blocking.
  16. Hi all, I am trying to build a DS3617xs in tinycoreloader on a baremetal platform with 10gbe HP Ethernet controller. The same bare metal hardware works on Tinycore redpill DS918+ w/10gbe HP Ethernet controller. However, with "./rploader.sh build broadwell-7.0.1-42218" command, the following error message is shown. It seems that pocopico.ixgbe is supporting to ds3617xs_42218u2, version not matching the ds3617xs_42218 platforms? tc@box:~$ ./rploader.sh build broadwell-7.0.1-42218 jq: error (at <stdin>:1): Cannot iterate over null (null) jq: error (at <stdin>:1): Cannot iterate over null (null) Loader source : https://github.com/jimmyGALLAND/redpill-load.git Loader Branch : develop Redpill module source : https://github.com/jimmyGALLAND/redpill-lkm.git : Redpill module branch : develop Extensions : Extensions URL : TOOLKIT_URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/toolkit/DSM7.0/ds.broadwell-7.0.dev.txz/download TOOLKIT_SHA : e050987fbbab0c246aff2af935b1d8a4140ce490915aa4c92f3c8d163eea970c SYNOKERNEL_URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/Synology%20NAS%20GPL%20Source/25426branch/broadwell-source/linux-3.10.x.txz/download SYNOKERNEL_SHA : d3e85eb80f16a83244fcae6016ab6783cd8ac55e3af2b4240455261396e1e1be COMPILE_METHOD : toolkit_dev TARGET_PLATFORM : broadwell TARGET_VERSION : 7.0.1 TARGET_REVISION : 42218 REDPILL_LKM_MAKE_TARGET : dev-v7 Checking Internet Access -> OK Checking if a newer version exists on the repo -> Version is current Cloning into 'redpill-lkm'... remote: Enumerating objects: 1055, done. remote: Counting objects: 100% (1055/1055), done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (502/502), done. remote: Total 1055 (delta 727), reused 874 (delta 546), pack-reused 0 Receiving objects: 100% (1055/1055), 449.38 KiB | 3.30 MiB/s, done. 17. If you google hard enough, you can find places which allow you to discuss and download freely(Hints: search for Simplified Chinese websites) It's just NOT allowed here. Please kindly remove your links. Different villages have different rules. Now you are informed, hope you can respect it.
  18. Hi Pocopico, do you use any add on network card on g7? I complied all four possible versions of 7/7.01 and sadly none works with g7's on board lan. I can't find the IP after boot up. Edit: I use latest redpill-help v0.12 to compile in ubuntu 20. I have successfully compiled working images w/ext for several machines.
  19. While we are waiting for Thorgroups, perhaps we could use this break to write up a tutorial or a faq based on the information gathered so far?
  20. Hi WiteWulf, just a quick question, is it because of the change in DSM6/7 that we can no longer see console booting message like what we did in the DSM5 xpenology loader? No I am not urging anybody to include this nostalgic function, just curious, and it also seems to be easier for debugging.
