Hello, I am trying to une the 4.1 version of DSM, but without USB Stick because I have a internal CF card reader on a IDE connector. The installation runs well when follonwing the procedure @ the beginning of this thread. But I have a problem when rebooting : GRUB loading, please wait... Error 22 I can solve it in reflashing the CF card with the DSM 4.1 image and all is working properly. But This machine is going to be distant from me .... it's a problem if I have to reflash the CF @ each shutdown ^^ An idea to solve that ? Regards.

Hi For information A friend of mine gave me a non-used NIC : 3Com 3C905CX-TX-M (10/100 Mbits) the 4.2 DSM version does not work the 4.1 works FINE !!! thanks for all !!!

If it loads OK with the ++ version but the LAN card is not blinking on both parts (PC + HUB/Routeur) then it will never work... Are you sure the bios is on default settings? Did you update the bios to latest version? Did you check the cable? Change with another one? Did you check that the LAN card is working (try a live UBUNTU CD??) Did you do an offering or a sacrifice to computer god? the lan card works fine with another OS (freenas, other linuxes, win$ ...), with the same cable ^^ the bios is in the latest version.... I will burn some old processors in my garden and will make a dance for the hardware ancesters ... good idea ^^

Marvel YUKON lan controllers seems to be supported by the 4.1-2668++ version ... my chip is a yukon one ... what could be the problem ? some ideas ? Thanks

No way to solve this ??... It depends on your level of linux knowledge... compiling kernel... I am digging into that as we speak but it does not seem simple for a newbie like me! Do you have a spare PCI card to test? I have never compiled a kernel fron now ... perhaps i'll be the first ^^ and I have no spare card, no :-\ ...

Your bios settings are by default? What is the screen on the syno saying? (if you pluged a screen!) bios setting are by default : Yes the screen says : "Diskstation login :" the light on the lan port does not show any lights and my usb keyboard does not work.... but it works in the bios..

Hello ! Congrats for this job on DSM ;o) !! but I am unable to find my machine with synology assitant. it appears that my network card does not work with tis rom this is as XFX 8200 MB, I am trying to find out which network chip it holds ... foud ! the network controller is a Marvell® 88E8056 .... could it work with this DSM image ? thanks !
