  1. Interesting that is what I did. Was on an old alpha launched to loader config updated loader (which failed so copied in the 2 arpl files from repo manually as they were 1k on usb) loader then launched selected DSM new version and built Copied off pat file launched loader but got no disk error on DSM back to loader and then updated everything from menu (modules, extras etc) booted loader DSM found but advised reset provided PAT file booted up first time files on volumes but no apps or config all wiped. So for clarity next time I should. -boot to loader menu -update everything -build version -copy off pat file -boot DSM and upgrade in DSM as it should boot as normal Thanks
  2. Exactly that was I supposed to update in DSM by manually doing the update using pat in DSM then update the loader after reboot? Setting up SSS is a real pain :-(, however setting up 6 AI tasks disabling them and creating a rule where home mode is switched enables all 6 AI task is a good bug to have 6 AI tasks for the limit of 2 lol
  3. Is there a guide to upgrading? I have just run the loader to update to 0.4 alpha6 and built the 7.1.1 version Booted the NAS and passed the pat but it states my NAS has been reset and all config lost What is the right way to move from one version to another? Thanks
  4. Yes there is a problem as the builds will stop it talking to Synology server by default by editing the hosts I think. I use pushover, instructions can be found here Tutorial - Synology - Pushover notification integration | SynoForum.com - The Unofficial Synology Forum This give me the notifications and then I setup rules to email me the AI alerts and set it to 5 seconds so you get 3 images of the video to see what is going on. EDIT: actually I couldn't get the text hack to work in SSS yet it works in the main portal, they seem to have upgraded it in SSS, what I di instead was to create a rule for the trigger and then used the pushover API to send a webhook from SSS which then turns into a push https://api.pushover.net/1/messages.xml?user=<yourusername>&token=<your app token>&message=<your+message+to+display+with+pluses+instead+of+spaces+like+this> Just change the <XX> sections to suit your account and messages
  5. Get yourself on eBay and look for HP Prodesk G4 or G5 models (they do a desktop and and MT (MicroTower), I just bagged a MT with a i7-7700, 12GB RAM and 1TB HDD for £100 (i got a good deal) and this model flies on it, has same graphics as well I believe.
  6. I never have local monitor, on all of them I inserted a dummy monitor plug so the PC thinks a monitor is attached and then placed it away on top of a cupboard, I connect over IP and installed the SSS application on my local desktop and laptop for video viewing.
  7. Just some feedback on my trials. All bare metal and using the simple loader builder from the other thread, I've built before but this just makes it much so simple and is great work. All Bare Metal builds with 2 x 3GB drives set in SHR config, 6 x 1080p cameras on dual feed and 2 x DVA running. J3455-ITX with 8GB ram built and ran fine but slower to respond to commands but not so bad if your just leaving it in a corner to do the work on SSS HP Prodesk MT G4 i5 8GB ram - Ram much better built using a migration 2 DVA running and about 50% CPU being consumed HP Prodesk MT G4 i7-7700 12GB Ram - Like lightening and using 15% ram and CPU - Literally just swapped disks and USB and the thing booted but HW is almost identical to i5 model. So the i7-7000 obviously is more powerful but has the same graphics as the actual model but for £100 on eBay it has made life very simple, as a MT model (micro tower) it has plenty of space for 2 disks. NOTE: for the HP models the device works much better with a monitor attached or dummy connector, I remember some time ago in a Plex forum that for HW transcoding to work you had to have a screen attached otherwise the intel graphics would not work, but not sure if Synology have fixed that or an issue in DVA1622
  8. Thanks for that mine is running at 73 degrees
  9. I have 3 Analytics running and see 80% GPU consumption, not sure how I get the temps from DVA. On another note: I have noticed that Synology have changed the advanced media pack for H265 to logged in synology accounts only from 7.1 so any upgrade may need a workaround for that. I only have H264 cameras so would be unaffected for now anyway.
  10. Random thought has the machine you are using got enough power? My card needs a 300W PSU check on manufacturers website for your models requirements as some cards are power hungry.
  11. Agree check the card in another machine if possible. Mine is a Gigabyte GTx 1650 Low Profile Model GV-N1650OC-4GL Mine has 4GB GDDR5 so not sure it is memory related.
  12. Not related to this thread create a new thread. Loaders are not generally created in request and probably never for smaller models, just build a DS920.
  13. Yes it does I've got 6 IP cameras going with no additional licences required. Continuous recording of low quality stream and then recording high quality on motion, then AI settings as well to identify what caused the motion. I'm also running the SSS beta v9 fine. As push notifications will not work to DS Cam I setup pushover and an action rule so the SSS rule pushes to the alerts to that service by a webhook to get AI notifications as push on mobile.
  14. I had a 1030 card on mine at build but it didn't work so I ordered a 1650, when it arrived I just shut down NAS swapped the card and rebooted. New model was there in reboot and AI started working immediately I didn't attempt any of the fixes advised above as they didn't exist so every was as per original install of pat file.
  15. Interesting, so it is not architecture specific (Pascal Turing) so if enough users report their results we can get an idea of what the common factors/functionality are.
  16. Question is will it do the AI analytics in SSS not being a GTX1650 I'm awaiting delivery of the GTX1650 as I only have a GT1030 which was detected but no AI is working as expected (no alerts) standard motion alerting is working. I went for a GTX1650 as it is the same model as real box, I'm no HW tech but I wonder if it is the models that allow something like the correct instruction set and not about the architecture (Pascal Turing) as we know the P series is seriously unlocked with features
  17. Great work, just got my bare metal to begin install :-) Quick Question, can we update to update 3 or can we only install to 7.0.1?? Thanks
  18. Just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work, the below is not my work but bits extracted from the thread so kudos to the posters. But this is what I used to get my machine booted. On first launch it did take a good amount of time to become discoverable, maybe 5-10 mins so be patient, after install I got a something is wrong message, wait another 5 mins and you should then be able to log in. I've just got this running on my baremetal ASROCK J3455-ITX MB with no modification. Rocking Applolake DSM 7.0.1 Added the below to global config for RedPill tool chain v0.11 { "id": "apollolake-7.0.1-42214", "platform_version": "apollolake-7.0.1-42214", "user_config_json": "apollolake_user_config.json", "docker_base_image": "debian:10-slim", "compile_with": "toolkit_dev", "redpill_lkm_make_target": "prod-v7", "downloads": { "kernel": { "url": "https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/Synology%20NAS%20GPL%20Source/25426branch/apollolake-source/linux-4.4.x.txz/download", "sha256": "af815ee065775d2e569fd7176e25c8ba7ee17a03361557975c8e5a4b64230c5b" }, "toolkit_dev": { "url": "https://sourceforge.net/projects/dsgpl/files/toolkit/DSM7.0/ds.apollolake-7.0.dev.txz/download", "sha256": "d349fa644392d4cfab8191243ee38aaa32bd517208c144678e0c855cb5a619ea" } }, "redpill_lkm": { "source_url": "https://github.com/RedPill-TTG/redpill-lkm.git", "branch": "master" }, "redpill_load": { "source_url": "https://github.com/jumkey/redpill-load.git", "branch": "develop" } Updated apollolake_user_config.json with device information VID/PID MAC/Serial On Ubuntu VM ran the following sudo apt-get update sudo apt install docker.io sudo apt install jq sudo apt install curl cd redpill-tool-chain_x86_64_v0.11 chmod +x redpill_tool_chain.sh sudo bash ./redpill_tool_chain.sh build apollolake-7.0.1-42214 && sudo bash ./redpill_tool_chain.sh auto apollolake-7.0.1-42214 Copied the image and flashed to USB using balenaEtcher and then copied the pat to desktop to upload as part of the install. Enjoy
  19. I second that, I may start hunting for the kit as I feel a shortage coming on
  20. Hey all I've can build fine thanks to the info on here but can someone advise how I build a 918 build it is always the 3615xs that gets created. I know I would love a DVA version build to get AI CCTV running with the 6 licences and Nvidia, Is this on the roadmap/possible? Thanks for al the hard work
