  1. i guess you could adapt and release your script in different versions for OG syn devices and dedicated gpu versions.
  2. Just got Frozen to test HEVC with True HD audio. As you can see, it works absolutely fine, no problems. I guess I'm alright for now. Thank you for your input. I will try to use your script in future builds as it is simpler to use, but for now Alex's worked for me.
  3. Without a link for your sample I cant test it. This is what I was able to find that is close : If you like , you could share it in a DM and I will test yours specifically. Thanks
  4. I cant do a clean install because this NAS is already in production. Its not used for streaming but it was a nice option to have. If Alex Presso will post an update I will aplly it and try with HEVC content as well. later edit: I am able to stream this content as well, you say it cant ? It's HEVC. Maybe Alex's wrapper is newer and worked out the issues...
  5. I used AlexPresso's wrapper in the mean time and it seemed to work just fine for both Video Station and Media Server. As soon as I applied the patches streaming worked like intended just like you are showing with yours. I will try yours with a new install soon and will post again with feedback. Thank you for staying involved.
  6. I have it activated by selecting "P" in the menu as you can see in the image ,but i still recieve this error when installing wrapper: After I run the wrapper again and select "I" in the menu and still get this : You have ALL necessary packages Installed, GOOD. [2023-08-21 09:19:10] ERROR: YOU HAVEN'T THE LICENCE LOADED in Advanced Media Extension package. Please, LOAD this licence and try again with the Installer. root@xxx-xxx:~# I'm on the latest DSM 7.2-64570 Update 3 on a baremetal DS923+
  7. You are doing a great job, dont worry. For some reason i am able to transcode. I will try on a new install.
  8. ==================== Installation of the AME's License Crack ==================== This patcher enables Advanced Media Extensions 3.0 for you, without having to login account. This enables the AAC and HEVC codecs and its license in the AME package, until DSM 7.2. When you install this License crack, the Wrapper will be deleted and you must to re-install it again. Note that in order to use this, you will have to use a valid SN (but doesn't have to login synology account with that SN). 10. Sure, 1. Make sure you have terminal enabled in your Control Panel -> Terminal & SNMP tick Enable SSH Service checkbox ( port 22 ) 2.Create a share folder on your DSM , ( let say "cloud" folder ) 3. Download putty ( a useful tool to ssh into other machines ) 4. Open putty and connect to the IP of your NAS (lets say 192.168.1.200 or whatever IP your Synology has acquired , if not sure check DSM Control Panel under Network-Network Interface-LAN1 , your IP should be visible) A black windows should appear with a pop-up window letting you know about the security acknowledgement etc... click accept/ok/continue. The window prompt should ask you to use your administrator account, whatever that is when you set up your DSM ( admin should be disabled by default so if you setup your DSM with something like main.admin , use that ) then your password for said admin account. Make sure you type your admin password correctly as the prompt will not allow you to see what you type for security reasons. If all goes well you should have a successful SSH prompt into your NAS. The windows should display your admin account @ nas-name : ~ $ Here you want to type "sudo -i" (no quotes) and it should ask you for your admin account password again. The prompt changes from "~$" to " ~# " This means you can perform actions as "root" Then type "dir .." to go back one folder in the directory structure. then "dir" to see where your volume which houses your "cloud" directory is or whatever you created as a new shared folder. If you have more than one volume you should see them with the "dir " command. Lets assume you have only one volume and the command displayed the folders ending with "volume1". You want to go to volume1 by typing "cd volume1" or "cd vol[TAB]" should autocomplete the whole directory name ( typing "vol" then pressing the TAB key does said action.) The prompt changes according to where you are at the moment it should be something like "/volume1#" Here you want to type "dir" again to see what folders you have. It should contain all folders you have created and the folders of the apps installed. ( music, video, photo etc... ) In our case type "cd cloud" .Tthe prompt should change to your location "/volume1/cloud#" ( do note that folders and commands are case sensitive so be careful and mindful of what you type.) Here simply copy and paste the command you got from the github I pointed to earlier in my other post. wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wirgen/synocodectool-patch/master/patch.sh chmod +x patch.sh The script should download into the folder and be made executable , then simply enter into the prompt "./patch.sh -p" Here you should see the options the script has to offer. Consult their github page for a more detailed explanation. This is what worked for me. Additionally if you want Video station and Media server patched ( I found out this works best on 7.1 update 5) please check out these pages from AlexPresso's github here and here these should in theory allow you to use Video Station in browser and have your phone Video Station app find and play content on your Smart TV If you get snagged dm me and will try to help out
  11. I managed to get a hold of wirgen's github solution https://github.com/wirgen/synocodectool-patch This is the latest patch for 7.2. SSH into your NAS and apply the command for basic installation into an chosen folder with sudo. It seems to be working now
  12. I applied the patch successfully to all relevant options 1 through 4 but when I play a title in VideoStation it just keeps showing a loading spinning circle. Is there anything else I need to do ?
  13. Did you manage this yet ? I'm on update 5 and cant get transcoding to work.
  14. I patched the AME, but it still cant transcode anything. I'm on DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 5 and have two movies in my video folder. I have two identical Baremetal installs with 3622xs+ both have AME patched/activated but only one works fine and can transcode to my vlc player on my phone. The other one does not. I don't know where I'm going wrong.
  15. I have made a fresh install of arpl with 3622xs+ latest update on a USB and reconfigured from scratch , managed to migrate with automated install from Synology. All good for now. With my 920+ the option to download directly from Synology wasnt available from the DSM Web interface.
  16. I have the same Issue with a 920+ , followed the upgrade tutorial to the latest arpl but when I download the pat DSM_DS920+_64561 from synology it doesnt work it says its corrupted. Edit: I had fbelavenuto's latest arpl with 7.11
  17. Thank you so much, I will post about the results. I wonder, now that I got it working back to 6.2, raid 1 (2x drives),and hot spare for the raid, ssd cache with 1x drive , will it play nice if I try to upgrade and migrate. I could easily just wipe the drives, I wonder if it was a stable viable solution given the alternative and having to jump through the remapping hoops.
  18. Running a baremetal , trying to install 7.1 Had DS918 6.2 before no problems with jun's loader If I run the satamap now i get the following: Found "00:1f.2 Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family 6-port SATA Controller 1 [AHCI mode] (rev 05)" Detected 6 ports/4 drives. Bad ports: 3 4. Override # of ports or ENTER to accept <6> 4 Computed settings: SataPortMap=4 DiskIdxMap=00 WARNING: Bad ports are mapped. The DSM installation will fail! Should i update the user_config.json with these values ? [Yy/Nn] y Done. The DSM will not install because it keeps detecting some error on drives 3 and 4 saying that it has disabled them and wants me to remove the faulty drives ( they are fine btw) and im stuck If i go bac to TC i run the satamap command and pick "=2", I recompile 7.1 and it installs fine but DSM will not show the other 2 HDDs, BIOS detection is fine for all 4 HDDs What exactly are those "Bad ports" ? I think I might be getting back to 6.2 but I would love to have 7.1 as main.
  19. Hoppler, your tutorial worked like a charm for my DSM 6.2.3-25426 VM in proxmox PVE
