  1. Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.1-42962 - Loader version and model: arpl-i18n 23.8.11 / DS918+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: Baremetal (ASUS PRIME B365M with Intel Core i3 8100T) - Additional comments: Do not use original ARPL since it doesn't support DSM 7.2. Manually install update first then flash img into boot disk, reboot and configure it. Before updating, remove SSD Cache to prevent volume crashes after the update. Since the modified libsynonvme.so will be restored and the cache won't available, leading the volume crash. Modify lib file and recreate SSD cache aftercompleting all updates.
  2. Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: from DSM 7.1-42661 to DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1 via GUI - Loader version and model: Automated Redpill Loader 0.5 alpha 1, DS918+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: Baremetal (ASUS PRIME B365M with Intel Core i3 8100T) - Additional comments: Update from tinycore-redpill. Just flash arpl into usb drive, configuring by ip:7681, then reboot (by reboot button on case, so no any display needed). Do update progress in DSM before configuring arpl. Because I've ssd cache before, after rebooting you'll got all data missing because ssd cache isn't working. Don't worry, don't be scared like me. You may found that volume missing so you can't edit libsynonvme.so.1 easily by copying it into volume, try copy to an usb, edit it to match your ssd, paste it to original place and chmod it, reboot. Everything backs to work besides wallpaper and language setting missing.
  3. just ask a noob question: does arpl needs boot display? after update can it run postupdate without keyboard and display, only by http://ip:7681? thanks

  8. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.0-42661 Update 1 - Loader version and model: Tinycore-Redpill v0.8.0.3 - DS918+ - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - intel i3-8100T/ASUS PRIME B360M-A - Additional comments: Remember to reboot into TCRP, run: ./rploader.sh update sudo ./rploader.sh postupdate apollolake-7.1.0-42661 exitcheck.sh reboot otherwise system will keep boot to recoverable mode. Also, NVME patch will fail after updating, remember to re-patch it.
  9. - Outcome of the update: PARTLY SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: RedPill DS918+ DSM 7.0-41890 - Loader version and model: RedPill TinyCore APOLLOLAKE-7.1.0-42661 - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL Original Hardware: ASUS H81M-K/i5-4570 New Hardware: ASUS PRIME B360M-A/i3-8100T - Additional comments: Update using Tinycore directly, when log in, it tells "SYSTEM IS GOING READY" sometimes and doesn't let me log in. If no show, DSM interface and SSH's response very slow, needs to force reboot to get "5 min only" normally work. I reset DSM settings and apps by reinstalling DSM with SSH: /usr/syno/sbin/./synodsdefault --reinstall After reinstall DSM, now works perfectly. By modifying /lib64/libsynonvme.so.1 , using HEX Editor to change NVME port, now m.2 works perfectly.
  10. https://blog.jinlife.com/index.php/archives/49/ https://github.com/jinlife/Synology_Photos_Face_Patch/releases Original work credits to Chinese developer @jinlife "Seems Synology Photos uses OpenCV's DNN to make face recognition works. The library which Synology uses can call different NN model according to different Synology models, and uses GPU to speed up. If hardware doesn't match with library, then it won't work. So the main problem that Face Recognition doesn't work is GPU problem, not if the S/N is valid or not." Developer has wrote how this patch works in his website. For fix, follow these instructions: backup original library: cp /var/packages/SynologyPhotos/target/usr/lib/libsynophoto-plugin-model.so /to/anywherwe/you/want download patch from developer's github (check your version before download it) copy patch to library: sudo cp /from/where/you/saved/patch /var/packages/SynologyPhotos/target/usr/lib/ Restart your device, or just disable synology photos then reenable again. Do re-index from Synology Photos' setting. Take a break. It will work after a few minutes. Only DS918+ need this fix, since DS3615xs doesn't support GPU acceleration.
  11. facing same problem here, but mine is bare device, with i5 4570 and ds918+ is there any fix right now? 12. Have you tried loader from previous reply? Mine is i5-4570 with asus b85, works perfectly from 6.2.3 to 7.0.1 only packages not compatible with newer dsm, just let it fix. seems all function works perfectly without any data lost. if i use bromolow version's loader which complied from my computer, it wont boot, no ip address. but using @tocinillo2's loader it works fine.
  13. Hi, im wonder if Haswell i5-4590 work with this? if i want to build myself, i need to choose Apollolake or bromolow? thanks.
