    What to do?

Poechi's site is full of info: http://www.xpenology.nl It has a translate button.
  3. In a HP n54l I got it to work (only within your lan, not from internet) with this tuto: http://www.xpenology.nl/wake-on-lan/ Use the "translate" on the right if you (like me) dont read dutch
  4. http://www.xpenology.nl/installatie-dsm ... -update-5/ Use the "Translate" feature if you dont read dutch

  6. I have read/write permissions, but the downlad station says I have no access to /Downloads. Any fix for this?.
  7. Followed Poechi's guide, everything working as described there after 2 reboots and 1 shutdown

El synology es linux, así que te formateará (supongo) a ext4 los discos windows.
  9. Update 4: http://www.xpenology.nl/installatie-dsm ... -update-4/ A la derecha hay un control para traducir.

  11. I just copied a bunch of folders using a windows XP laptop to my music folder in the synology, and some are greyed out and not accessible from my MAC computer; most of them are fine, but some are listed as "Unknown " user. I've tried setting the user again in the file station, and apply it to all subfolders, but it does not work. I can create a new folder from the windows computer and move all the files, but this is slow and painful. ANyone knows how to fix this?. I am still copying from the windows computer and has not happened again. Strange. Is there a way to force a fsck in the synology volume?.

    N54L y WOL

http://www.xpenology.nl/wake-on-lan/ A mí me funciona dentro de la LAN. Desde fuera no despierto nada

  14. Working well with 2 6TB WD RED drives in a HP n54l, using SHR (the proprietary synology RAID 5). No problems so far, except that wake on lan only works within the lan, and not from outside. The drives are not too noisy. Happy . Used the tutorials on http://www.xpenology.nl/. Great web, full of resources!.
  15. Would it work with an external USB drive?

    Me presento

Yo acabo de llegar ahora en vacaciones y he comprado un n54l y 2 WD 6TB REDs. Acabo de instalar el 4493 y el sistema está comprobando los discos duros. De momento parece funcionar bien . ¡Que pasada de NAS!.
  18. I updated with the bios mod as described in: http://www.xpenology.nl/hp-n40ln54l-bio ... 013-10-01/ No issues at all, worked the first try
  19. I just put 2 6TB WD REDs. The system is checking the hard disks, but so far it seems to work fine. Much to play with now!!.
  20. I already have the HP N54L; It is amazingly small and cheap. I am waiting for two 6TB WD REDs. I'll do the experiment and report.
  21. I just got here and I am warming up to the idea of setting a HP N54L with Xpenology. I have a few questions for you enthusiasts: Is this box compatible with the new 6TB WD REDs hard drives?. Will it go over 16TB of a single raid volume?. With 5 drives possible, a raid 5 could get (in teory) to 24TB, and to 18TB in raid 6. Would be awesome!. Has anyone done something similar?. Would it work?.
