  1. I use pyload as downloader. There is an good android app for controlling and adding downloads. If you use esxi you can install Xpenology and Windows/Linux of course. Only bottleneck is your hardware. I think most important is to have enough RAM for every VM. Then you can run as much as you want. But I'm not sure if you can directly use your hard drives. I think you have to backup all your data and restore it after setting up Xpenology as VM.
  2. Xpenology as a virtual machine is more complicated to install. So if you don't want to run other OS than Xpenology parallel on same server just install it directly with USB stick. With direct install speed might be better (compared to sharing resources with other VMs) but you could have higher fan noise. Be sure to have latest drivers installed for lowest fan noise.
  3. I don't know how the installation process on N54L but you will not have any problems with Gen8. You could install Xpenology as virtual machine or directly.
  4. No, working fine here in ESXi. Have also installed python package before?
  5. Right now it's also not working for me. But I will have a look at it in the next days. Maybe a BIOS Update and some BIOS configuration would help. I will let you know if I get it to work.
  6. That's normal. I have the same message there. This is something different I guess... Look at the link I have posted. Read on from point 3 at section beginning with "The next step is..." Same way you have added the controller you have to add the single devices.
  7. I also use ESXi 5.5 and the processor G1610T. I only named the VM "Diskstation 5.0". Do have added the USB-Controller to your VM-configuration? Then you could plug in an USB device in e.g. front USB and you should be able to add an USB device in the VM settings. You understand that you have to manually add any new usb device the first time in the vm configuration to get it working in DSM? Atm I don't have time to boot into BIOS settings.
  8. You have to change the the configuration of your DSM VM with vSphere client. There you can add usb devices. For me only the 2.0 ports (2 front, 2 back) are currently working. Maybe I should have a look in BIOS to activate the 3.0 ports. And I think you have to add first an USB-Controller. You can have a look here for instructions (from point 3): http://www.v-front.de/2014/11/vmware-silently-adds-native-usb-30.html This is my personal config with working passthrough.
  9. Ok, dank dir schon mal.
  12. Ok, I think I got the solution. After updating on 4493-Update3 the expanding this time goes into the next step (adding hdd) and didn't stop at mounting hdd. Gesendet von meinem LG-D802 mit Tapatalk
  13. I tried to expand my SHR Volume (2 disks) with another one and it failed. I have a HP Microserver ProLiant Gen8 with ESXi 5.5 und and raw-disk-mapped the hdds to the VM Xpenology DSM 5.0-4493 Update 2 (nanoboot). The log says: Jul 29 12:23:59 HP volumehandler.cgi: space_internal_lib.c:309 Failed to migrate '/dev/md2' from RAID 1 to RAID 5 Jul 29 12:23:59 HP volumehandler.cgi: space_internal_lib.c:568 Failed to migrate RAID 1 to RAID 5: [/dev/md2] with disk [/dev/sdc5] Jul 29 12:23:59 HP volumehandler.cgi: space_shr_add_disk.c:53 failed to add partition to space: /dev/vg1000/lv [0x0D00 string_sep_pair.c:54] Jul 29 12:23:59 HP volumehandler.cgi: space_expand.c:323 failed to add disk into SHR.
