  1. I had forgotten what a Chromebox was because we don't deal with those. We do handle Intel NUCs which has i series CPUs. So now that I'm thinking miniPC a whole lot of possibilities open up. Thank you.
  2. That looks interesting. Thanks
  3. Hi, So 3 of my clients' DS1515+ servers died. I was able to get 1 working by replacing the PSU. The other 2 motherboards were fried. I would like to avoid throwing those carcasses in the land fill. Synology doesn't supply motherboards for systems that old. My question: Is there a motherboard from any company that would fit in that case? Maybe with a better CPU? Thanks
  4. Never mind. I found it here: https://github.com/wjz304/arpl-i18n
  5. Never mind. I found an answer with ARPL: https://github.com/fbelavenuto/arpl/releases Thanks
  6. Hi, I am trying to install DSM 7.1 on a hard drive instead of a thumb drive. I am using and Intel i3 NUC as a test bed. It has an M.2 drive and a 2.5" drive. It will work if I boot from the thumb drive but not from the hard drive. It fails with image may be corrupted. I've used a variety of images. The one that worked with the thumb drive as ds3615xs. It would be nice if I could get DS920+ to work but that isn't important. Has anybody gotten booting from hard drive working? Thanks
  7. This might be what I am looking for. What is ARPL? Where did you get it? Thanks
  8. Great. Maybe there is hope. Thanks
  9. Hi, So it occurred to me that I could export Synology's DSM VM as a OVA. I would like to import it into VirtualBox. I did but it won't boot. I'm guessing the VM is looking for the Synology NAS. Has anyone gotten this working? Thanks Bob
  10. Hi, We pulled a couple of Supermicros from retirement, replaced the Adaptec cards with LSI 9200-8i in IT mode. One Supermicro has 8 drives the other 16. We use Jun's 1.04b loader and DSM 6.2.3. for DS3617xs All looked well until we noticed some of the internal drives were listed as external. Searching the forum we found that setting: maxdisks="24" esataportcfg="0x0" internalportcfg="ffffff" usbportcfg="f000000" fixed that. The next problem is the drives that were listed as external could not be added to the array. They could not be Secure Erased either. I must be missing something. What else do I need to do? Thanks
