Hello, I use Active Backup for Business from DSM to backup my ESXi. You can connect directly your ESXi inside it, you juste have to activate SSH et ESXi Shell: https://www.synology.com/en-us/knowledgebase/DSM/help/ActiveBackup/activebackup_business_requireandlimit#VM You'll need to activate Active Backup for Business:

- Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2 - Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615XS - Using custom extra.lzma: No - Installation type: VM - ESXi 7.0.1 - Additional comments: Update via DSM GUI. Reboot required.
