  1. Currently, i can't get Passthrough to work on my machine, with H77 chipet. Either ACHI or SATA mode will work. During Syno boot, no hard drive is detected by DSM.
  2. failed SSH attempt doesn't mean your server is hacked. If you ever own a cloud server, you will also notice there are hundreds of these attempts from the internet. What you failed to do here is to use the firewall. For those of you that see these messages from the log, you will need to disable your DMZ, and assign the trusted IP to use port 22. that's it. Regard of a backdoor..... well, if a person has a backdoor login, then it would not show a failed login attempt. Guessing a login is not a backdoor.
  3. has any one successfully use Passthrough? I have a Xeon E3-1260 CPU on H77 motherboard. BIOS with VT-d enabled, and in ESX5.1, passthrough the Panther POint PCI device. I added the device to the Syno_boot machine, and Upon installation, it can not find any hard drive.
  4. anyone successfully install it on ESXi 5.1 ?
  5. How do you bootstrap on this ?? The repo http://packages.quadrat4.de/ doesn't work with this model of DS.
  6. Thank you for the great work. did you have the chance to create an IPKG package?
  7. anyone got it working on Workstation 9 instead?
  8. what kind of disk read / write speed do you get with RAID5 with these HP Microservers?
  9. For those of you that use VirtualBox installation, how is the performance of your DSM4.2? I have Windows 7, Virtualbox, Intel i3 3225 CPU, but 2GB of RAM. 4 x 2TB hard drive, + 1 WD Black for OS. i have 1 x 250GB virtual disk image (VDK) on the WD Black drive as the first installation volume for my DSM4.2. Then I created 4 VMDK for each physocal disks and added them to the VirtualBox. These 4 x 2TB disks then got put into RAID5 in DSM4.2, and everything is working fine, but I can NOT exceed 20mb/s transfer rate to the DSM4.2 . Over a gigbit connection, I have a real DS413 that can do 70mb/s. Does anyone have slow disk under VirtualBox?
