  2. I'm pretty sure that you can't change the physical MAC permantly because it's most time stored in read-only memory on the nic. It's designed by the manufacturer to not be changed. You can spoof it like synoboot.img does.
  3. I guess you can just change the MAC in the grub.cfg of synoboot.img It worked for me and my router shows the MAC whichever I choose there.

  5. Hello, i've already read some posts about hibernation but couldn't find the answer i'm searching for. I'm intersted in HDD hibernation mode because I don't use my DS daily and it's in my living room. I can clearly hear the disks spinning while watching a movie etc. The function in the control panel isn't working as expected, I only could find one entry where the DS stated "Internal disks woke up from hibernation." The rest of the time the disks were spinning even if the DS wasn't in use. The only package i have installed is "Synology Drive Server: When there are any
  6. Hello, is it possible to create a volume on the same drive where DSM OS is installed? If i try it says something like "All data on the newly added drive will be deleted. Do you really want to continue". So what happens if I do press "OK". Does it simply create a volume with the rest of the available space or does the system delete itself (which I can't imagine)?
  7. Hello premikkoci, thanks for your tip, I got it to work now. It's just curious that my screen is still showing: "Screen will stop updating shortly, please open to continue." Even after a reboot. I miss the part from different tutorials where it shows also: early console in decompress_kernel Deceompressing Linux... Parinsg ELF... done. Booting the kernel. Do I need to worry?
  8. What do you mean exactly with: I've changed the SN, MAC, VID, PID and tried it with different extra.lzma. Where can I turn off hardware acceleration? Thanks for help.
  9. Hello, thanks for the quick answer Maybe you can answer me another one. I've severel times read that ppl were able to install DSM 6.2.2-24922 using an ASROCK J4105. I have the same board but i'm not able to get it up running, always ends for me with the website were it says "your diskstation is being rebooted" and the timer runs out. I have no clue what i am doing wrong, i only got DSM_DS918+_23739 to run. Edit: An yes, i'm a noob. What is meant with "custom extra.lzma: real3x mod" some ppl use it with J4105
  10. Hello, i have a simple question, i finally managed to install xpenology after 2 hours... is the USB-Stick nessecary for the system? If i remove it the system isnt booting.
