  1. Hi guys, do you have any idea how to successfully enable ipv6 in docker and create a dual stack macvlan? Thanks for any help
  2. I am already on 6.2.3. update 3. Perhaps a fresh install might do a trick?
  3. Does this mean we have to update to 6.2.4 or find another solution? OpenVPN seems to be also affected.
  4. Hello, I have been using the VPN server application on DS918 + 6.2.3. for a long time. I haven't been able to connect to all devices via VPN since about yesterday. It should be a Synology DDNS certificate issued by R3. I tried to renew the certificate and create a new one. Unfortunately, the problem still persists. When I tried to start the OpenVPN server on the Asus rt-at56u router, everything worked. The extract from the log is as follows Any ideas?
  5. Are you saying ds920+ (not 918+) loader might be possible with some additional work?
  6. DS920+ is great option for Plex. It's capable of many 1080p transcoded streams and 2 4K HDR transcoded streams. Even HDR tone mapping works if you use linuxserver.io docker package for PMS. Btw you really want to avoid transcoding anyway except for remote streaming if you have terrible upload. All you need is to avoid burning in subtitles. Use text based subtitles (.srt) and avoid the image based ones (PGS, VOBSUB). Keep in mind that LG TVs force burning in any subtitles if transcoding is needed. You would need the fastest CPU for that.
  7. Probably caused by HDR tone mapping. Native PMS on Synology does not have necessary drivers to do HDR tone mapping using GPU and so video transcoding is done by GPU and tone mapping by CPU. To utilize GPU for both video transcoding and HDR tone mapping, You need to use docker linuxserver.io PMS version which have all drivers. So first try to turn off hdr tonemapping in PMS settings to make sure that the problem still occurs.
  8. Yes, I tried some 4K HDR HEVC remuxes but not sure if a transcoded content is encoded to h264 or HEVC (most likely h264). I strongly recommend to avoid video station because it doesn't support DTS, TrueHD and even EAC3. You can forget about HDR tone mapping as well. Just go for Plex pass.
  9. Every modern device supports HEVC and J4105 supports Hevc as well (decoding and encoding).
  10. I recommend to install linuxserver.io docker version. It supports HW HDR tone mapping and is quite easy to update. I believe that the version in the package center is very old.
  11. Remove that vaapidriver=i965 line. It has been fixed. Does /dev/dri folder exist? Do you have Plex Pass and installed custom extra.lzma ?
  12. I'd go for an Asrock J4125+picoPSU+8GB of DD4 and a case of your needs
  13. All changes to synoboot didn't save with osfmount that is bundled with the xpenology tool. So I tried a current version and it worked for some reason.
  14. I have finally managed to create a proper usb bootloader and my j4105 works perfectly fine (dev/dri/ exists).
  15. No /dev/dri/ for me on J4105. I am afraid all changes to synoboot.img don't save at all. Everytime I flash the usb drive I have to change vid, pid, sn, Mac in grub menu. Can anyone create synoboot.img with the newest custom extra.lzma and upload here? I would change vid, pid, sn, mac in grub menu.
  16. What media server do you use for 4K HDR transcoding? I am asking because the colors are washed out in case of Plex
  17. I started a downgrade process a few minutes before your answear. I am gonna try a clean install then.
  18. I tried to update my j4105 to 6.2.3 and unfortunately there is no /dev/dri/. I use juns loader 1.04b without any additional extra.lzma.
  19. So the most probable solution would be if Synology released new models based on gemini lakes?
  20. Hi, is there any update about hw acceleration on gemini lake with the newest dsm?
  21. There is no such a thing as hw acceleration with gemini lakes and 6.2.2. So you obviously can't turn it off. You should use syno 0.8 custom extra.lzma (created by IG-88). Keep searching
  22. ls /dev/dri Have you deleted iHD_drv_video.so?
