  1. Please, Can you explain how you enabled this config? Perhaps, we can try to debug differences about SSD cache for iSCSI LUNs and SSD cache for Volumes. My opinion is that the protection mechanism from Synology is blocking some funtions, and gnoboot/nanoboot developers needs to patch them. I hope soon iSCSI blockIO and SSD cache will be fixed.
  2. Yes, at time no support for SSD with XPEnology DSM 5.x Read my thread about this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3251 I feel the problem is the hack to run DSM on 3rd party hardware. Also, other functions, like iSCSI target blockio don't work (you need to use fileio). I hope, some developer will fix these problems in the near future.
  3. Hi, So please, ask nanoboot developer to include ACPI support! I can't understand why not compile the kernel with them. I like also to have a robuts N54L server with XPEnology working. Regards.
  4. Hi, No one with this problem? Someone has SSD cache working with XPEnology DSM 5.x?
  5. Hi, I'm trying to compile by myself a driver for 4482. However, in this guide: ... 0-dsm-4-1/ the kernel is version "3.2.11" and the kernel for 4482 is "3.2.40". Where I can found the correct sources? Someone can help me? The developers of nanoboot are using the correct source code, right? Then, they can publish the tools to compile additional modules? Or they can full compile all modules and publish them in a repository? Please, help me! Thank you!
  6. Hi, I like to enable SSD cache with XPEnology DSM 5.x. It's seems that is not easy! My test environment: * VMware ESXi 5.5 * Virtual machine with nanoboot * DSM 5.0 4482 stock Results: * With SCSI disks on the virtual machine, they can't be used for SSD ("synodisk --isssd" fails). * With IDE disks on the virtual machine, they are recognised as SSD (good!). * Config 1: 1xIDE disk (boot) + 2xSCSI (volume1) + 2xIDE disks (for SSD): After create the SSD Cache, the system goes slow. Logs (dmesg) shows errors writing (timeouts) to SCSI disks. * Config 2: 1xIDE dis
  7. Hi, Similar, but not equal, to me. I open a new thread related to this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3251 I hope we can found a solution/workaround!
  8. I tried with all versions of nanoboot and gnoboot on real hw, but it does not work... Hi, I'm already interested on this. Which problems have you detected?
  9. Hi, My question: It's save to add the "modules" repository to a homemade DSM box with nanoboot, or I need to forget this? Thank you!
  10. Hi, Please, someone can help me to add custom drivers to nanoboot? I found only info about DSM 4.x versions. It's possible to add custom drivers to 5.x versions? Thank you!
  11. Hi, I like to open this thread because I don't found another one for ask/request/share about drivers for DSM 5.0 with nanoboot (or gnoboot). Please, someone can try to compile new drivers for the version 5.0 of DSM 5.0 (4482 or 4458)? At time, I need this: USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet based on AX88179. With DSM 5.0 USB 3.0 support is included by default, so I like to add a second Ethernet port using this cheap NIC. I test it with Linux, and works great. And, please, can you explain by only custom drivers are post in this forum for versions 4.x? I like to complete a system with a M
