    - Outcome of the update: UNSUCCESSFUL

    - DSM version prior update: DSM 7.1.0-42661 (failed update with TCRP v9.2.9)
    - Loader version and model: Auto Red Pill Loader v0.5alpha1 - DS3615xs
    - Using custom extra.lzma: NO
    - Installation type: BAREMETAL - HP N54L

Followed very easy steps of menu.sh - selected bromolo-7.1.0-42661.  newer version were unavailable for DS3615sx.
Unfortunately, generated loader didn't boot - probably DSM partition is broken with TinyCoreRedPill and don't want to boot into any shape.
With ARPL machine cannot be discovered in the network as it was with TCRP.

I also install With ARPL but machine cannot be discovered in the network

    HP Gen7 N54L but with DS3622XS

Me too i have migrate 4 x 4Tb hdd from a xpeno ds920+ to a baremetal HP Microserver gen8 using latest ARPL

all migration proces is done and perfect

Question is it's good or bad to change filesistem volume to BTRFS (now its ext4)

I weill use HPMgen8  at home for general ussage:

    - store many family photos

    - photo station

    - store movies

Its deserve to delete ext4 volume and make new one btrfs ?

    Hello, what are your results?

I have installed my NAS and answers to myself :

     - Why do you prefer ARPL instead of TCRP for this model (I always use Jun or TCRP for my old NAS) ?

ARPL seems to be the simplest loader builder

     - Should I disable the HP RAID interface (I think so, because of the driver issue) ?

Yes, by choosing SATA AHCI. There is no driver for this RAID interface.

     - Does the disks order is the same as physical bay with the command "./rploader.sh satamap" ?

Yes, no command needed (with ARPL in my case)

     - Is it possible to use a SSD as first drive (for DSM) and a RAID volume with other disks for data without issue (My goal is to prevent volume issue if an update go wrong) ?

No, each disk contains the OS

     - I know loaders well but feel free to give me hints for this particular hardware

I found a lot of fresh information in the posts from @Madasafish  @nemesis122

How did you make a ssd as first drive for your DSM?

, no command needed (with ARPL in my case)

    Thanks, it already runnig!

dsm is a linux appliance and does not have a package managment like apt or yumm its more like a fixed environment for more stability

the normal way for a native running app would be synologys package center in the webgui, these spk packeges need to be build specifically for synology (https://synocommunity.com/)

the more modern way and not bound to synology would be docker

in your case there seems to be a native package

    https://community.home-assistant.io/t/hass-io-on-synology-dsm-native-package/125559

but as flyride already mentioned its better to use docker images, there will be a wider selection and they will get more updates

even synology has started to use docker for some former native packages

  5. Hello, mayby a noob question, but what are commands on Xpenology in putty? I try to install Hassio - Home Assistant, but the commands don't work, is that because i have Xpenology?

or are the commands different in Xpenology?

I try this too install, but at the SSH i can get futher.

The BIG problem would be that your N54L is using an AMD CPU, not supported on the 918 platform.

I would advice you to use Jun's loader 1.03b for the 3615 platform, with DSM 6.1.7-15284 (update 3),

this will give you a stable system, and it will not let you update to the 6.2.x by mistake.

Do i need a other nic or can i use the intern nic?

    Thanks for this answer!

Maybe for the future, what are the requirements to run 918+ xpenology?
