Like all things Kickstarter they revised the timetable, they are saying they are on schedule to ship by the end of this month. They have shown AMD motherboard samples and case, you can see all updates at the storaxa Reddit.

I think it's a custom order so no link.

Ask me again on June (hopefully) when they get delivered. They changed the design for the AMD system and instead of 1 sata from the CPU + 5 from another controller there are now 6 from the same controller. This means more lanes for the onboard nvme but you can no longer boot from SATA if you want to pass through the controller. Suits me fine as I have an SSD volume anyway for docker Plex and whatever accesses the system regularly, makes a big difference in noise. Also the design is 5x3.5 +1x2.5 anyway so all good.

Either would be ok I think, they just offered additional intel options as well. I have pledged also, but I have my doubts whether it will materialise or not...

I think at 234EUR inc delivery it is good value, NAS cases like that go for 100+ last time I checked, this includes RAM, motherboard and a boot SSD. The motherboard is this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004880301486.html?gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt
  6. I think this would make a kickass xpenology box, either native or through virtualisation. 2 versions will be offered, either intel N6005 or AMD 5800U/5825U. The 5 sata are on a JMB585 controller. What do people think?
  7. I got it to work in the end, I couldn't boot with either virtio or e1000 network, Realtek just booted, no migration even, straight to my DSM. Thanks for your help.
  8. Interesting, do you think migration would work by passing just the disks as I don't want to start fresh. Also, what do your variables look like? Sataportmap and diskidxmap? Thanks
  9. Thank you I will try your suggestion and report back with the existing and proposed settings for satamap etc.
  10. Hi all, Trying to migrate an existing installation to proxmox by passing through the onboard sata controller, problem is another controller is detected when mapping sata ports at loader creation (I think it's the SCSI controller you can't remove from proxmox), system comes up as new rather than being given the migrate option, can anyone assist? It worked great when I tried ESXi.
  11. Just upgraded my 6.2.3 to 7.0.1. Great work, whoever made this possible, thank you!
  12. Thank you for replying. I've got synoboot, synoboot1 and synoboot2 in /dev. Grub.cfg is untouched except the s/n and mac, and the VM is pretty standard as per tutorial, except the sata controller passthrough. I migrated a bare metal install to esxi, it was pretty painless, just the drives have different numbering but it was not a problem as all were individual volumes, no raid.
  13. Script doesn't work for me, ESXi 6.7, loader on sata 0:0, m/b sata controller passthrough to vm. The loader script shows in security advisor so it's correctly installed with the right permissions, however I can still see the loader in DSM. Any suggestions?
