I have GA-X58A-UD3R http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... id=3305#ov and have 8 2tb disks in it now and just added 2 more 4 tb disks to the last 2 sata connectors butt the disks dose not show in diskstation hdd management? I even tried to putt in an high point rocketraid 2640x1 card and connected the disks to that card butt nothing happened. I am running Nanoboot (4493) - 5.0.3.1. now I have tried XPEnoboot 5.1-5022.3 update 4 butt still no luck the harddrives dose not show up just found the disks under the external sata disks. can I make them so they are not esata and just sata so they can be added to my shr volume? I have played around whith the esataportconfig="0x00000" internalportcfg="0xff" butt haven't gotten it right I have 10 sata on my motherboard butt the last 2 dsm ses them as esata anybody have any idea of what settings I need to change to?

Ok. So i can change one and then repair the volume and the change the second one and rapair volume and then expand to the full volume of the two 8 tb disks ?

okey butt I have onley one disk redundancy so how is that gonna work?

Hi. I was woundering if i could move my hdds of 8*4 tb disks from my current computer that have 10 onboard sata connections witch 8 are used with 4 tb disks to a computer that have 6 onboard sata connections and a raidcard with 4 sata connections and the raid will be intact? Have anyone tryied it?

Hi. I have 8 *4 tb disks and was woundering how i would go about to uppgrade one of the disks to 8 tb disk. Do i pull thi first drive in my setupp and putt in the new drive and the recover or rebuild my shr? And i gett the full 8tb or do i gett 4 tb of the 8tb disk?

I get the same warnings. And i have installed nanoboot on usb stick and dsm om baremetall machine with 8 *4 tb disks with lots of fans butt still gett the warning

I have a problem with my nas that it loses the connection to the nas on the network. I pull the network cabel and plug it in again and it works butt its annoying and want to know what the problem is. dsm 5.0 -4493 . Nanoboot - 5.0.3.1

do you mean that you can have more than 12disks in one volume if I follow youre instructions?

Dose the Nanoboot 5.0.3.2 show the right cpu and temp?

Are you maybe using encrypted folders in DSM? no encrypted folders. and have the latest dsm and updates. it apers that onley the cpu is working butt not the harddrives when it says it is resizing. I rebooted the computer to se if anything had happened butt it had not. I booted with xpenology and it says I can expant the volume butt it dose not work in dsm. and nothing happens when I run the guide. is there something to do with the warnings I got? got two warnings when I typed ing the command "sudo apt-get install mdadm" that it "faild to detect canonical device of overlayfs" and "could not determine root device from /etc/fstab mdadm: cannot open /dev/md/2: No such file or directory. this is what is in my fstab file from the /etc/fstab "none /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/root / ext4 defaults 1 1 /dev/vg1000/lv /volume1 ext4 usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0,synoacl 0 0" found this butt don't understand what it means. http://askubuntu.com/questions/316486/p ... ing-update

I have searched all the web and not found nothing that works. I want to stop the service that makes the @eaDir folder. dose anyone know how to? the folders are showing on my media player and is very annoying it has something to do with the iTunes service. and I don't use iTunes on my nas. just the file sharing service on DLNA

worked for me using the usual: sed 's/flashupdateDeb/flashupdateDeb1/' /autoupd@te.info > /autoupd@te.info1 mv /autoupd@te.info1 /autoupd@te.info is this 3 different commands? I have updated the other updates with the hud and worked. butt want to try this

how do I Disable indexing and generation of @eaDir directories on xpenology?
