  1. re-mapping the drive number in the Synology Thank you @flyride for the fantastic tutorial. My configuration is an LSI-2011-8i SAS without sata controller using broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661. Everything is working fine expect the Synology drive number doesn't match the physical location. Is there a method to re-mapping the drive number in the Synology? thx
  2. try re-run "/rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661" the LSI2008 driver might not installed.
  3. Thank you @flyride for the clarification. I just wonder if we can put the HBA devices in front of SATA. it looks like we need to live with it this way. Thank you again for the instruction.
  4. Hi @gis70 Here is what I did. 1, install a brand new DSM 7.x with this instruction. 2, backup the data for my old DSM 6.x and shut it down 3, passthrough my LSI-9211-8i to new DSM 7.x and follow web interface to finish the migration. now I have the above mentioned disk order problem, even through the data is there. Hope the above help.
  5. Hello @flyride, Thank you for your instruction. I successfully install the 7.1 on ESXi 7 and migrate DSM from 6.x to it. I have a question about disk order/number. I have a SAS controller LSI-9211-8i in passthrough mode. on DSM 6.1 they are from number 1 to 8 and now they are from 3 to 10 as I set sata0:0 as boot and sata1:0 as data. Is it possible to move the sas disk to the first 8 drives? I searched everywhere and didn't find the clear instructions how to do it.
  6. Hello @Wurstwasser, I have same situation to passthrough LSI9211-8i, but the vSATA drive use bay 2. I'd like to move it to bay 9 also. Could you share the detail of port mapping? thx
