@IG-88 Is the driver externsion suitable for dsm 6.2.1? I have a running dsm(6.2.1) on asrock J3455-itx, can I just enable the hardware transcoding by the following steps? 1. re place extra.lzma、extra2.lzma files in the loader udisk. 2. remove all the files from update and firmware directories. 3. reboot

I have J3455-itx with the same problem. The different is that I did not fully reinstall the DSM with the given loader in this thread but just replaced the loader itself. There is no /dev/dri in my environment. If you have this device path, you could enable the HW transcoding in DS videostation and try it. Look forward to hearing your good news.

I have the same problem with motherboard ASRock J3455-ITX (i915 causes kernel panic and no /dev/dri exists). I think it is the same root cause, but currently no fix available. see more logs in dmesg -> https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/12332-j3455-hardware-acceleration-for-h265/?do=findComment&comment=107863

This is a dmesg segment in starting period, you could see many error messages related to kernel. dmesg.txt
-
It turns out i915 drie will be crashed in J3455itx in 6.2.1 with jun's loader 1.04b, check /var/log/dmesg...
-
no, I still can not figure out a way to utilize gpu, i915 driver always crashes, I read all the related topics in xpenology, no solutiton for this.

Thanks for the comment. One more question is that can I use a sn/mac that a ddsm generated to activate my hw transcoding?
-
Hi Oregin, have you try 918+6.2.1_23824 with asrock j3455-itx motherboard?

Does anybody meet the video station transcode problem when using jun’s 1.04b loader + 918+(6.2.1)? The discussion is in https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/7438-is-dsm-checking-sn-for-video-conversion/?do=findComment&comment=107373
