Not at all, just felt very comfortable with 1.02b and 6.1.7. In case of going to 1.03b do I need to put in another extra.lzma as well?

Hi everybody, want to let you know that I've succesfully installed DSM 6.1.7 (Baremetal) with Loader 1.02b for DS3615xs and extra.lzma v4.8. This Z420 has the boot block date 12/28/2011 It works great, and the best is all SATA AHCI as well as SCU ports. So in total there is now 10 SATA/SCU onboard ports available. Will be upgraded with a x540-t2 soon.

Oha, die Seite hatte ich noch nicht gefunden. Dann werde ich mich mal dran machen das BIOS korrekt einzustellen. Mal sehen ob es klappt. Übrigens super Übersicht, danke für den Link! #1 EDIT: Hab mal im Bios herumgesucht und konnte nichts mit CSM finden. Hier ist ein Video mit den Möglichkeiten im BIOS. @IG-88 würdest du bitte mal drüberschauen und prüfen, ob ich evtl. etwas übersehen habe?

Hallo zusammen, ich habe ebenfalls ein Asus P8H67. Leider habe ich es bisher jedoch noch nicht geschafft auf dem System 1.03b mit 6.2 zum Laufen (Baremetal) zu bekommen lediglich mit 1.02b und 6.1 hatte ich bisher Erfolg (Baremetal). Natürlich habe ich die 3 files, also "extra.lzma" v0.5 in Partition 1 und "rd" sowie "zlmage" auf Partition 2 kopiert, trotzdem streikt der LAN Port immer noch. Hat jemand anderes hiermit vllt. Erfolg gehabt oder kann mir einen Tipp geben was ich noch versuchen kann?

First, thank you very much for your detailed reply! I was thinking to no being abale to use a PCIe Slot when going with 1.04b (918+) as it doesn't have one originally. As I already mentioned I'm having a X540-T2 and would like to still use it, of course I will 😉 won't miss 10Gb. So would that be possible with 918+?

Hope I am right here to ask my question. I am planning to get some new hardware based on B365 Chipset. Can I use Jun's Loader 1.03b for 3617xs for the chipset? As I want to install my X540-T2 I thin I can't go with 918+ since it usually has no PCIe.

Das halte ich für eine vernünftige Vorgehensweise, ich denke aber Xpenology wird dir so gefallen, dass du nicht auf OMV wechseln wirst. Genau, die gibt es beide. Hyperbackup komprimiert die Daten, sie sind auf alle Fälle kleiner als das Original. Ich schätze sie werden um ca. 30% komprimiert. Zu Updates generell: Hier im Forum findest du alle notwendigen Infos, wenn du mit Bedacht handelst und nicht auf gut Glück mal auf "aktulaisieren" klickst, bin ich überzeugt es wird nichts schief gehen. Wenn du dein Produtivsystem schützen willst, dann kannst ja auch eine alte HDD nehmen und dort das gleiche Xpenology wie auf dem Produktivsystem aufsetzten. Wenn du dann ein Update machen willst, trenne die Sata-Verbindungen deiner ProduktivsystemHDD's und schließe die TestsystemHDD an, wenn das UPdate dort durchläuft, kannst du sicher sehr sicher sein, dass das Update auch auf deinem Produtivsystem problemlos durchlaufen wird. Letztendlich ist das wichtigste vor Updates immer zu prüfen, ob die Loader-Version auf dem Bootstick das gewünschte Update auch unterstützt. Gerade bei wichtigen Daten sind mehrere Backups zu empfehlen, z.B.: - zusätzliche intern angeschlossenen HDD - extern angeschlossenen HDD - evtl. eine Diskstation im gleichen oder auch in einem anderen Haushalt nur für Backups Ich selbst bin auf 6.1.7 und aktuell sehe ich keinen Grund für ein Update. Mein NAS ist nur im Heimnetztwerk unterwegs.

Kannst ja mal selbst die Werte bei CPU Passmark vergleichen...sicherlich wird es der i3 sein...die Frage ist ob du das braucht, letztendlich bedeutet mehr Leistung auch mehr Stromverbrauch, der wiederum mehr Unterhaltskosten. Hi, wird definitiv laufen. Verbessungsvorschlag: RAM mal mit 8GB starten, das sollte dicke reichen, wenn du nicht mit VM's hantieren möchtest und das übrige Geld in weitere Platten investieren. Wenn du zu Beginn kein Raid machen möchtest, dann wenigetens eine separate Platte fürs Bachup (Hyperbackup bei Synology) vorsehen. Theoretisch reicht bei deinem Vorhaben auch ein ITX mit onboad Celeron CPU. Viel Spaß beim Basteln.

Ich habe vor in nächster Zeit in Vorbereitung auf ein 10Gb Upgrade ein Raid 5 oder 10 System aufzubauen, welches aus den 4x onboard Sata Ports und weiteren Sata Ports einer PCIe Erweiterung (SI-PEX40062) bestehen soll. Hat jemand Erfahrung damit, ob das problemlos machbar ist? Edit: Ich habe seit ca. einer Woche 3x750GB als Raid 5 Konfiguration laufen. Alle Platten sind an der Marvell Karte angeschlossen, bisher läuft das ohne Probleme. Ich werde noch ein paar Tage abwarten und dann mit den Platten ein neues Raid 5 erstellen und diesmal aber einen oboard Sata Port und zwei Marvell Ports dafür verwenden.

Thank you very much! I think I am going with the original card E10G18-T1 as I‘d like to avoid trouble with drivers. For the moment I don’t need a switch as all my network devices are having gigabit network and I only want to upgrade my desktop and my nas with 10Gb lan.

In the meantime I decided to go with a Raid 5 config with 5x3TB WD Red. I hope I can reach around 400mb/sec. I'd like to use it mainly as source for my 4k footage and have planned to edit (FCPX) directly on it without copying the footage to my desktop anymore. Alright, thank's in advance! Edit: cache makes no sense for me (I guess - without ever having tried) since my data is way to much in my opinion in order to create a useful cache scenario.

Hi, I am seriously thinking about to upgrade my network to 10gb. Especially the connection between my desktop and my nas is a connection I would love to have a faster read an write speed. But as I am relatively new to the 10gb topic I have some more questions which I hope somebody could share the answers with me. #1 how can I add the v4.8 extra.lzma driver? #2 is it possible to have a lan connection between my desktop and my nas without using a 10gb router?

If sombody has the need to add more Sata ports like me (I'll soon install four more HDD's)...I have running a Marvell 88se9235 card and it's working fine so far out of the box. At the moment the card is plugged in the PCI-e 2.0 x16 slot.

Hi, just found this thread. As I am very interested in getting exFat running on my Xpenology for sure I'll give it a try. Altough I'm a bit concerned to not beeing able to go though the SSH or Telnet thing. It would be my first time doing this. For instance: #2 SSH to NAS & enable root account; ssh admin@ipaddress | pretty sure I have to type in my ipaddress sudo su - synouser --setpw root your_new_root_password | is "synouser" a placeholder for my account name and "password" as well ?

Alright, that makes sense an I assumed such kind of problem will be the reason for being unable to make the purchase. I‘ll give this tutorial a try and hope to get it work!
