Thanks for your reply. I've tried 3 different usb sticks (different types and sizes). Also tried win3diskimager for windows and tried dd on osx. All the same problem. Grub is not loading.

Hi, I'm trying to het this to work on an relatively old HP DC7900 (Intel Core2duo) but I can't get the usb stick to boot. It's keep getting stuck before loading grub. Just a flashing cursor on the top left of the screen. I created the usb stick using dd with the ext2 img file. The stick does boot in a laptop (although it strands in a kernel error, but grub works) , so i guess the flashing of the usb stick was succesfull, booting other usb sticks (live ubuntu for example) on the same pc is no problem at all. Any ideas what i can do to make this usb stick bootable?
