Did you have any luck sorting out the java issue? Having recently upgraded my N54L from 4.3 to 5.0-4458 I am now getting the same insufficient disk space error when trying to install Java (in this case, jdk-7u55-linux-i586). Everything else is working well after the update Cheers!
