I am unable to find any real details on this unit. The Buffalo TeraStation TX-XE. Does anyone know if these units can be used with Xpenology? I know Buffalo uses their own linux distro on these embedded into paritions on the drives in the unit. I have managed to get Telnet for full access to the linux distro on these but I have no idea on how to force them to usb boot or maybe modify the boot partition on the hdd to use xpenology etc. Has anyone done this before, we have 2 of these units sitting here doing nothing. I would love to get DSM on them and re-purpose them. The Buffalo NAS OS is horrible.
