  5. Uh - i think i managed to step down successfully! Your hint with using a newly created USB Bootloader stick did the trick. DSM seems to write some kind of version infos to the USB device. That blocked the installation of the older version. Before i wiped all 2.4GB partitions on the harddrives with zeros with MiniTool Partition Wizard. But thank you ALL for your help 🤗
  6. what do you mean with: "Usb use a different one." ? So i just need to use an acronis usb recovery and plug an USB Stick in my J5005 and go..?
  7. i can't step back to the older version. The Web Assistant tells me i need to use a Installer file wiith version 6.2.2-24922 or later....
  8. A new install is not working with my Asrock J5005-itx and the Loader 1.04b After Reboot the network Interface stops working and i can obtain no IP Adress. Worst thing is i can't step back to the older version. The Web Assistant tells me i need to use a Installer file wiith version 6.2.2-24922 or later.... Any ideas?
  9. Ok - thanks for the answer... i did something else in the meantime - i formated the dsm partitions on my drives with a partition program so that i could do a reinstall of DSM. Your way might have been a little easier though 😅
  10. Danke für den Hinweis. Hat bestens funktioniert!
  11. i tried to reinstall everything but when "finding" my NAS i don''t have an option to install manually - only the option to "restore" When i do this all my settings are still there. But i want only my data and not my settings to be restored.... What can i do?
  12. i have a problem now with my Xpenology... SurveillanceStation does not work properely. When opening different Menu options they load indefinetly. Now i am thinking about reinstalling everything from the scratch. But how do i do this without loosing the data stored?
  13. For me shutdown and reboots work fine. Only Drives don't spin down for energy saving...

  15. Hi all! I am pretty new to this thing - but it's awesome. A question i got is regarding Quickconnect. It is recommended not to use a serial for the box out of the generator for Quick Connect. My question is - can i use a original serial from a older box and model (from a 216) for the 918+ Model and then use Qucik Connect? Are the serials not connected to a special model type? For my install i used a key from the generator - but for the 916+ Model - but it worked for the 918+ too..... Would be awesome if this works. Thanks!

  18. Ok - thank you for your answer... I think i will go for new hardware. I read some reviews and even the SOC Board J5005 ist significantly (+50%) faster then my old PC hardware. And i really want to have new DSM Versions supported. Any suggestions what might be the best shot for hardware? Is it a SOC like the Asrock J5005 or is a generic new Intel CPU + Mainboard better (in terms of compatibility now and in future?)
  19. Ok - i think i can handle that missing atm I don't see why this is such a big thing for many. I have an extra htpc - so that station itself is playing the videos and not my possible new XPEnology NAS.
  20. Hi Guys! As my old NAS died some days ago, i stumbled over this solution to build a new NAS wie XPEnology. I got the situation here, that i have old Hardware in use that currently is used as a fileserver and downloadstation. It runs under Windows10 with a drive pool Software called Drivebender. It works pretty well (now for years), but there are no benefits regarding Backups, Raid etc. Now i am asking me, how to start.... using the old Hardware and just install XPEnology and be happy or buy new stuff thats (maybe) faster and more efficent? I am currently using CPU: Intel Pentium G840 (Sandy Bridge) 2Core (Max TPD65W) Mainboard: MSI H67MA-E35 RAM: 4GB DDR3 (2x2GB) Would new Hardware like a Asrock j3455 + RAM be more efficient and faster? Is the old hardware in theory capable of beeing used? Or would be the best to go for new CPU and Board and RAM like 8th gen i3/i5 + Asrock H370M-ITX ? Thanks for your help, chemistry
