  1. Just follow the tutorial and use the 3617xs-related files/settings. Done.
  2. You can install the dsm on the ssd, that's how I did, but you still need the usb stick for booting.
  3. J4105 user here. In order to boot, you have to have the usb stick, no way to avoid that as far as I know. I failed to load 918+ for the hardware (keep crashing), but 3617xs does work.
  4. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.7-15284 Update 1 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.02b - DS3617xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Asrock J4105 - Additional comments: REBOOT REQUIRED; Domoticz seems to be unstable under some situation, not sure if re-installation would solve the stability issues.
  5. Again, hw acceleration needs a valid s/n. If you want to use it, you can buy a cheap or used synology nas even it is not the same model. No one will share their vaild s/n to you.
  6. I am testing ds3517 with 6.17. In my case I found the 918 is not stable enough to boot with 6.17 DSM and my j4105 motherboard, however ds3517 seems to do pretty good jobs.
  7. Can you try the ds3517xs firmware? I am using the j4105 cpu and the ds3517 seems to be more reliable than the 918 for this cpu.
  8. That's strange... Did you activate the HW acceleration?
  9. That's it! Thank you for clarifying! For a system with cpu only, is it useful to activate the HW transcoding function?
  10. The transcoding in the DSM is powered by CPU, right? What if I have a gpu installed, is it possible to use the gpu for transcoding? Just a crazy thought...
  11. Thanks 88! Any risk if there are two DSM running with the same s/n but different locations?
  12. Dude, you need a valid s/n, which means 正版群晖序列号 in order to make it work. At lease for the current 6.2 system it is true.
  13. 88, just to be clear, no matter what version the DSM is, we still need a valid s/n for transcoding, right?
  14. I cannot tell right now since I need to get the valid s/n from my 216 first...
  15. I do have a 216+II but not for my recent build. Where to find the s/n in my 216+ii?
