  1. OK, my bad. I just realized I'm not supposed to mount the .pat file...🤦‍♂️
  2. Hi. I've run into a problem when trying to mount a .pat file using OSFMount on a Windows 7 PC. At first, whenever I try to mount the file, I get an error related to driver signing and that the file is unsigned At first, I tried to disable driver signing by disabling it in the F8 boot options, which did not work. Then I tried to disable driver signing in an elevated command prompt using: "bcdedit.exe /set nointegritychecks on", which did not work either. I then installed the KB3033929 hot fix as mentioned here. After installing that hot fix, I could mount the drive but now, whenever I try to access the drive I get an error stating "F:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect." I'd appreciate it if anyone can give me an idea on what is causing this problem. Cheers.
  3. Hi. In order to familiarize myself with DSM, I got the DS3617sx bootloader working on an old Dell e6420 laptop without issues. I just cannot get the ds916+ bootloader to work on that same laptop. The laptop CPU is a Intel I5-2520M. I'm planning on putting together a custom-built NAS with the following specs: Mobo: ASRock Z370M-ITX/AC CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 RAM: 4GB HyperX Kingston Technology FURY 2400MHz DDR4 PSU: SilverStone 450W 80 Plus Gold Modular SFX 3 x 4TB WD Red HDD's in RAID 5 configuration As far as I understand, I want the ds916+ bootloader since it utilizes built-in CPU support for hardware transcoding (I'll be using the NAS as a Plex server amongst other things) Is there a reason why I cannot get ds916+ to work on the laptop and should I worry about it before attempting the custom-built NAS? Cheers.
  4. Hi. Gerhardt here from South Africa. I recently got the .pat file for DS3617sx running (but not the DS916+ one?) on an old Dell E6420 laptop of mine in order to familiarize myself with the DSM operating system. I really like the the potential of running the Synology DSM on my own hardware so I'm already planning on a custom-built NAS to store my media as well as run the surveillance around my house. I trust that this community is the go-to place for info and support. Cheers.
