I wanted to get a synology box, but found out that I can just use my old stuff and built a xpenology box. So this is my attempt: 1) Case: I use an antec DF 85, it's ugly but it's free. This one can house 9 HDD (4 of which is hotswappable) and 2 X SSD. And I turned the 3 5.25" bay into 4X 3.5" HDD bay hotswap (also have that laying around). 2) I have an EVGA mobo has has 6 SATA slot, and an i3 2100 laying around. so that's gonna be it. 3) 8 GB of DDR (4GB X 2) (also laying around). 4) HDD, I have 2X2TB, 2X3TB, 1X4TB, 1X6TB. 5) PSU: I'm using an antec 380W, i think this might need to get swap out soon. So far I've put everything together and run on 5.2. I found that was the easiest install. Bottom line. I have a box that can house up to 15 drives, the mobo only has 6 X SATA. Which cheap card can i get to add additional SATA slots to fill up the banks? Which PSU do you guys suggest for a 15X drive built? Thank you.
