  1. Sorry Ronnie, I gave up on this port because the network driver was unstable and caused too many problems.
  2. Hardware: Intel NUC5PPYH I have installed Jun's loader v1.02b DS3617xs using DSM 6.1. The box boots completely and is relatively stable. But I have encountered a problem with the NUC's embeded Realtek RTL8111/RTL8168 network adapter not playing well with the synology driver. This is a known issue with many other builds and kernels. I have checked and can confirm that the driver that DSM natively loads is the same one that I have had a problem with after installing Ubuntu 16.04 Workstation on the same model Nuc box. 0000:03:00.0 Class 0200: Device 10ec:8168 (rev 15) There is a fix, but it requires recompiling a file available from Realtek here. But that requires a copy of build-essential linux-headers to be on the NUC. There is also a problem where the drivers in DSM are not named conventionally so the Realtek make file will not find the correct files to replace. So I think the only way to repair the problem might be to take a known working device driver from a similar Debian kernel, I already have one on different NUC Ubuntu 16.04 and transfer it to the DSM and rename it to the Synology convention. Don't know if this will work. Any ideas?
  3. Putty does work. It was an issue with configuration on the DS. Thanks!
  4. You couldn't give me a simple yes or no?
  5. K, Strange, Putty has always worked before. Thanks.
  6. Is there a method to install grub on the hard drive and remove the need for a USB? Can I add grub to the hard drive and make the changes to grub.cfg?
  7. I have installed Loader 3617xs V1.02b and DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 1 on a Intel Braswell NUC5PPYH. I appreciate all the hard work that the developers have put into this. But I am interested in logging in remotely using SSH or FTP to access the OS. I have made the appropriate changes in the user permissions and file and am using the admin login. When I try to logon it does connect and ask for Username and Pass but once completed the Putty window closes. Is this by design? Is there a bug? Or am I doing something wrong
  8. Thanks to to admins for creating this site and software. I own a real Synology DS and have always liked the look and feel of the way that it works and wanted to install it on another small server without the out of pocket expense of purchasing another DS. I've succeeded in installing the latest version on an Intel NUC5PPYH. It works almost flawlessly.
