  1. I used 7zip with a microsd USB stick reader, my guess would be to try 7zip instead of WinRAR
  2. Hi btomi9, did you also extract the PAT file with 7zip and used the 2 additional files rd.gz and zImage to replace the existing one on the 2nd parition of synoboot.img? See my post, just a little scroll upwards:
  3. Updated from 6.1.7 to 6.2.2 on my Baremetal Gen 8 server with onboard network card. Using a ds3515xs, I used: 1. Create new USB stick with new PID and new VID, old MAC and old SN 2. Mount parition 2 3. Added extra.lzma from http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=87576629927396429210 (for ds3515xs) 4. Added zImage and rd.gz, from the PAT file (7zip to unzip): https://archive.synology.com/download/DSM/release/6.2.2/24922/DSM_DS3615xs_24922.pat 5. Shutdown synology server 6. insert new USB stick and booted 7. Synology finder to find the new server IP 8. Install via PAT file: https://archive.synology.com/download/DSM/release/6.2.2/24922/DSM_DS3615xs_24922.pat 9. up and running! Followed the instructions and worked, some scary moments because during update the server disappeared from Synology Assistant quite long. Even longer than the 10 minutes splash screen from the synology update. But my patience paid off and my system is up and running without problems! Even all my installed apps are still working Thanks to IG-88 👍
  4. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.4 15217 - Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.02b - DS3615xs - Installation type: HP Microserver Gen8 Baremetal - Additional comments: Requires reboot Did update from 6.0.2 with 1.02a to 1.02b loader, then installed 6.1.4 and update 5 immediately after installation of 6.1.4
  5. Hello, I've been running 6.0.2 since January on a HP Microserver Gen8 Baremetal, but would like to update to 6.1, of course without data loss. Should I just make a new bootable USB with Jun 1.02b loader and boot up from it? Did anybody do this before? Will all modifications still be working? Thanks a lot for your reply, I've read throughout the forum, but couldn't find the answer to my question
