  1. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 2 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: HP Elite 8200, integrated NIC Intel 82579LM - Additional comments: Computer needs to be booted in Legacy BIOS mode for network to work (since DSM 6.2).
  2. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.1-23824 Update 6 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: HP Elite 8200, integrated NIC Intel 82579LM - Additional comments: Computer needs to be booted in Legacy BIOS mode for network to work (since DSM 6.2).
  3. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.7 UPDATE 1 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: HP Elite 8200, integrated NIC Intel 82579LM - Additional comments: Computer needs to be booted in Legacy BIOS mode for network to work. However HP Elite 8200 UEFI BIOS refuses to boot loader in Legacy mode, only EFI. To solve this issue I converted USB key's partition table from Protected to Hybrid partition table. That helped BIOS to see MBR partitions and boot in Legacy mode. Before upgrade the computer was booted with loader 1.03b. Then DSM 6.2.1 was installed, starting web page find.sysnology.com (as a new install would be made).
  4. Loader version and type (918+/3615xs/3617xs): Jun's Loader v1.03b - DS3615xs DSM version in use: DSM 6.2.1-23824 update 4 Using custom modules/ramdisk: NO Hardware details: HP Elite 8200, Intel Core i5, integrated NIC Intel 82579LM Prerequisites: Computer needs to be booted in Legacy BIOS mode for network to work. However HP Elite 8200 UEFI BIOS refused to boot loader in Legacy mode, only EFI. Booting EFI mode makes that network is not working for Jun's Loader 1.03b. How I solved the boot issue? Loader's USB key partition table has Protected partition table. And looks like HP's UEFI BIOS for mentioned model has issues booting in Legacy mode in that situation. I converted USB key's partition table to Hybrid partition table. That helped BIOS to see MBR partitions and boot in Legacy mode. For conversion I used 'gdisk' tool in linux/macOS. I selected all three USB key's partitions to be part of MBR partition table, whereas I flagged first (EFI) partition as bootable for Legacy boot to work correctly. To make Legacy boot mandatory I could disable all UEFI boot options in BIOS. However I rather renamed EFI folder name on first USB key partition to something else. That way Legacy boot became the only option for that USB key.
  5. With 1.03b bootloader I'm able to boot only UEFI. But that way I do not see computer (I have Intel NIC). However I'm not able to boot in Legacy BIOS. It finds no boot info on USB key. Should I prepare USB key somewhat differently to be able to boot in Legacy mode? The table at the beginning of this thread says DSM 6.2 it should work only in Legacy. But how to boot that way? I already lost many hours and no progress ... Help appreciated. I have HP Elite 8200, and trying 3615x loader. 1.02b 3615x loader works fine, but initially boots in UEFI. Even those version I'm not able to boot in Legacy.

    DSM 6.2 Loader

I’m running DSM 6.1.7 with Jun’s loader 1.02b DS3615xs without a problem on HP EliteDesk 8200, i5-2500, NIC Intel 82579LM. When trying to boot with Jun’s 1.03b DS3615xs baremetal the usual loader screen shows up, but I can not find NAS in the network (with find.synology.com or Synology Assistent). Neither I can ping it. Looks like network does not come up. New loader has same settings in grub like previous one. 1.03b loader boots in UEFI mode. I tried booting in Legacy mode, but withot success (black screen only with no text). Any idea how to solve this? Is there a way to see some log where errors can be seen?

    DSM 6.2 Loader

Same in may case with 1.03b and DSM 6.1 loaded. My HP 8200 EliteDesk BIOS also has no CSM settings ... However ver. 1.02b works just fine. And I don't want to upgrade to 6.2 before loader works. Any other suggestions? Does loader 1.03b work with DSM 6.1 or is it just for 6.2?
