  1. Thanks. Forwarding the ports in the router solved it.
  2. I am setting up my NAS to access it from the net and I want to use secure https connection which needs certificate. Following this guide the operation fails. https://synoguide.com/2016/04/14/secure-your-synology-with-https-ssl-certificate-from-lets-encrypt/ I've tried to enter the following. Domain name: user.dyndns.org or dyndns.org (tried both) Email.... Subject alternative name: user.dyndns.org Do you have any idea how to do it?
  3. Do I need to create single or multiple volume for this? To create multiple volumes can have the advantage of creating a volume and an iSCSI LUN. With the latter, if I understand well, it can be achieved that the LUN and the files on it can be accessed remotely from the internet like a drive on the PC. How could I to remotely edit and save an excel file on the NAS as if it were on a PC drive. Do I need to create iSCSI LUN or rather VPN? What if I do a single volume and I create iSCSI LUN for the whole area? Thank you.
  4. Thanks. Can the apps be installed to the USB pendrive instead of a separate HDD?
  5. I want to create RAID10 for 4 HDDs in HP Gen8 server. Am I supposed to create the RAID with HP Smart Storage Administrator and then create RAID10 again in DSM? Or HP RAID shouldn't be created at all, only DSM RAID?
  6. Hi! I'm trying to configure the NAS and create RAID that asks to choose between single or multiple volumes. I tried to find out what the difference was, but it is still not clear. Config: HP Gen8, 4x3TB HDD RAID10, so it can not be expanded. DSM 6.1.3. Single volume seems to be better since it accesses faster and I do not have to configure the size of the volume in advance. In case of multiple volumes, if I need to increase a volume later, I do not know how to do this at the expense of other volumes. I read that it is easier to set access rights in case of multiple volumes, say, one volume contains public media content, the other one is backup, the 3rd one is VPN access. What can I do on multiple volumes that I can't do on single one? For a single-volume configuration, can I make folders accessible by having public media on one folder, backup on the other, and VPN access on the 3rd? Should I choose single or multiple volumes if I want to use the above features? Thanks in advance for your help!
