  1. You can upgrade directly to 7.1, I did it and zero issues with current loader state
  2. Updates are blocked on purpose at redpill level, first its not good for custom synology to phone home and second and probably most importantly is that some smart users will configure automatic updates and will get their systems bricked.
  3. Synology discontinued USB device support from version 7
  4. It seems that some drivers are incompatible with 7.1, I had issues updating a Microserver Gen8 with a mellanox Connext x 3 shutting down after installation, so I disabled the card, built the loader so that it does not include the mellanox driver, updated and then reenabled the card, after this the system booted up with no issues
  5. This happens when the PAT download is interrupted, you need to clean and start again
  6. All steps are necessary for any install just to be safe, and yes you need to answer yes to any question asked, or there is no point in running the command yes ?
  7. I have Microserver gen8 running on ds3622xs+ 7.1 with no issues, however my cpu is core i3, also there is one step less which I used to compile redpill for gen8 ie omit this step while building loader ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://github.com/pocopico/redpill-load/raw/master/redpill-misc/rpext-index.json
  8. Try on a mac with smb protocol
  9. Maybe switch or cable issue ?
  10. Sorry, mine is like this, yours is definitely an issue in satamap
  11. Don't thank me, as I wrote earlier, pocopico updated the redpill-load, which made this possible, I was just fixing my broken Microserver install, so its pocopico you should be thanking, I didn't do anything
  12. Nop, I actually migrated directly from DS3615xs 7.0.1, Built the loader and then installed the PAT, my install was actually broken as I updated one of my data servers and it started to shutdown after boot, however latest redpill update fixed it, I just rebuilt the loader and it fixed the shutdown issue

  17. did all of you try auto satamap detection ?
  18. Easy way to do an inplace upgrade, did it on 2 N54L and one Microserver Gen8 for ds3615xs Login via SSH as admin then change to root sudo dd if=tinycoreimage.img of=/dev/synoboot bs=1M check via fdisk if bootable flag is set on synoboot1, if not set it. Reboot and find the nas on your dhcp server, then login via ssh to tinycore and run below commands ./rploader.sh update now ./rploader.sh identifyusb now ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3615xs now ./rploader.sh satamap now ./rploader.sh build bromolow-7.0.1-42218
  19. Do not use this in production, redpill is beta, dsm is beta, wait for stable release.
  20. Check post from pocopico on page 41 on how to compile Link to kernel sources https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/snapshot/linux-3.10.108.tar.gz
  21. Where is your redpill-load config for geminilake ? You were correctly pointed out on what you need to be done and why your setup is not working, editing global_config.json and creating geminilake_user_config.json is not enough.
  22. tg3 driver provided some pages back is working on Microserver gen7, should also work on gen8
  23. There is no dsm7 for bromolow yet, or am I missing something ?
