I try to build a new nas from the boot image of my actual DS712+

Hello to all, I've a DS712+ (atom D425 based synology) I've try to evoluate into an atom D525 (same but 2x more cores). I've try the jun bootloader but simulate a ds with high end cpu and far more disks. I've the usb card of my original nas, if i clone it into another usb flash and put it in my 'new' motherboard (pin out isn't the same)? Will it work, or it's a pretty bad idea ?
