  1. I finally got this working with the use of gmass.co SMTP test tool... I couldn't get anything to work that used SSL, finally with my ISP's email account without SSL to port 587, success.. I can now send notifications from Surveillance station to my SMS email phone carriers address "555-555-5555@txt.att.net" Just strange that the Notifications email tests of DSM work fine with any SSL enabled SMTP, but not Surveillance Station... go figure...
  2. Any help much appreciated, I can't get my Surveillance Station EMAIL notification to work.. I've been googling for days and can't find the same problems I'm experiencing.. Model: DS3615xs DSM 6.0.2-8451 Surveillance Station ver. 8.1.5-5513 Within the Control panel/Notifications tab of DSM I can get EMAIL alerts just fine with any of my many SMTP accounts.. BUT with Surveillance Station's EMAIL Notification I get this response: "Test mail failed to send. please check your settings and try again" "Timeout while reading server reply" But I know it's communicating to my SMTP servers because if I change the password to anything that's not correct I get this error: "Test mail failed to send. please check your settings and try again" "535 5.7.0 Authentication rejected" Has anyone seen this or have any experience with this problem? I did try to go the PUSH route as well, and even though I can connect my Android phone to the system via DS Finder or DS CAM I can see my cameras and all functions from the phone as designed, but from within the server when I click the "managed paired DS CAM" button from within the PUSH SERVICE notifications tab I get "Operation Failed" Just having NO luck getting notifications from Surveillance Station... Any help MUCH appreciated... thanks.. Brian
  3. Thanks guys.. I had the WRONG version files for a Bare Metal install... Was trying to use VM file.. Followed the Doc and downloaded the correct files as listed in the install DOC and everything worked great.. Thank you everyone for the help...
  4. I'd like to send a big THANK YOU to everyone's assistance and SHOUT OUT to Polanskiman! You were correct, just needed the right version files and follow the documented process.. I'm UP and running with my new DSM... Now time to READ..READ..READ.. Thank you guys Mucho !
  5. Uhdamm , I too am trying to use a T3500 with 4-3tb drives.. No matter what I do I keep getting the same result.. When I boot my DSM computer from my thumb drive, imaged with "DSM_DS3615xs_7393.iso" and choose INSTALL the Kernel loads fine, blinking cursor at bottom, I'm able to detect it from another PC, and begin the DSM install, the System shows up in my router's IP list and is pingable, but once the system reboots in RUN (by default after a couple seconds) it Doesn't seem to Load.. It lists everything down to "Booting the kernel" but I never see a blinking cursor at the bottom and the IP that was assigned by my router is no longer in use and isn't PINGing.. The Diskstation is never found and times out. Seems like RUN mode isn't loading the NIC or getting an IP from my DHCP scope, or maybe its not working at all and hung? If I reboot it and put it BACK into INSTALL mode, everything shows up, I'm able to connect again, setup the DSM "DSM_DS3615xs_7393.pat" configure everything, setup drives , initialize them, create RAIDS and test the parity etc. But if I create a VOLUME, it automatically CRASHES... SO basically I have a partially working DSM if it's running in INSTALL mode. What would you recommend for the T3500 and files? Where and which ones did you use to get it working? thanks.. Any help MUCH appreciated.. DSM Newbb.
  6. I'm NEW to xpenology and DSMs, only just learned about it.. The files were given to me by a friend so maybe that's the problem, maybe there is something specific to his system or something. I apologize if this has been addressed already, I did search but didn't find any similar posts.. When I boot my DSM computer from my thumb drive, imaged with "DSM_DS3615xs_7393.iso" and choose INSTALL the Kernel loads fine, blinking cursor at bottom, I'm able to detect it from another PC, and begin the install, the System shows up in my router's IP list and is pingable, but once the system reboots in RUN (by default after a couple seconds) it Doesn't seem to Load.. If I reboot it and put it BACK into INSTALL mode, everything shows up, I'm able to connect again, setup the DSM "DSM_DS3615xs_7393.pat" configure everything, setup drives and volumes etc... SO basically I have a working DSM if it's running in INSTALL mode. If there is no fix, is it OK to keep it in INSTALL mode? Guessing I could change the CFG file to launch INSTALL rather than RUN if needed. Any help much appreciated NEWB...
