  1. - Outcome of the update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.2.1-23824-1 - Loader version and model: Jun's Loader v1.03b DS3615XS - Using custom extra.lzma: No - Installation type: BAREMETAL - HP ProLiant MicroServer GEN8 with Extra HP NIC 610 - Additional comment: Used the GUI to update - auto rebooted and took about 7mins :: No Drama other than Plex lost its shared folder permissions
  2. - Outcome of the installation/update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 6.1.1-5217 - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - HP Microserver Gen 8 / NIC: HP NC360L - Additional comments: -- This was by no means plain sailing, I got the ERROR 13 first due to the wrong PAT file, make sure you get the critical one and not the standard one from their site. --Then after installing I had nothing, no ping nothing. I had a NC360L in the cupboard so installed that but could not find a way to find the MAC so left the grub as it was and disabled the internal NICs in the BIOS. --Then when I tried to switch on the HP gen 8 it would just sit there and blink a green light, for hours, after some digging I found that replacing the CMOS battery will fix it which it did.. I know...Random right! --I then had life, but got a message stating no HARDDRIVES from DSM - so back to the BIOS and I disabled the internal RAID and switched on AHCI and it now works -- Internal NIC not recognized -- HDDs lost until ACHI switched on
  3. - Outcome of the installation/update: SUCCESSFUL - DSM version prior update: DSM 5.2 - Loader version and model: Jun v1.02b - DS615 - Using custom extra.lzma: NO - Installation type: BAREMETAL - Hardware: HP Microserver Gen 8 - Additional comments: initially got error 13 using this tutorial to the letter (almost) - the link to the PAT file is broken so I downloaded straight from synology. When that did not work I found one called DSM 6.1.4 - 15217 by googling and that worked. followed this tut :
  4. #HP Microserver Gen 8 error 13 going from 5.2 to 6.1 I had error 13 after following the tutorial https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/9402-dsm-614-15217/page/4/ This is on a HP Microserver Gen 8 After messing about with different USB sticks (Always setting VID/PID) and almost giving up I realised the only thing I veered from was the DSM package as the link in that was provided in the tut was dead. None of the versions I tried from Synology worked so I did a google for the exact same as in the tut :: DSM_DS3615xs_15217.pat That worked! Hope it helps
  5. Result... kind of. I managed to get a 4TB WD Red up and running. Not in SHR unfortunately. Here's the steps I took: - install XPE 4.2 on 250gb drive SHR - upgrade to XPE 4.3 - add 4tb WD Red in SHR mode - this causes the drive to fail (warning message stated the drive crashed) - removed the drive and rebooted - add 4tb WD Red in BASIC mode I am rather curious to see what will happen if I now remove the original 250gb which I don't really want... Will keep you up to date. Guessing I will add another brand next... was hoping to use SHR. Has anybody managed 4TB drives and if so what makes? thx UPDATE!! It ran for about an hour and whilst trying to move some data over to the drive it died again. Crash warning.... I think I'll stick to my warning... DON'T buy WD4TBred for XPE
  6. Hi, it seems WD Red 4TB drives are not supported, not sure if this is a driver issue? But could this be added to your list please? Thx
  7. Ok I am starting to think Xpenology does not work with 4TB WD RED drives. Trying to install XPENOLOGY on the N54L with the standard 250gb drive works fine. Repeating the same steps with a WD 4TB red drive just end up with the 'configuration lost' message. I've tried 4.2, 4.3 and Beta. If I try to add the 4TB to the system later I get a message stating that the drive is degrading and I can't see it. If anybody has managed to install on WD Red 4tb drives please let me know if you have any advice. If not : WARNING!!!! DON'T USE WD RED 4TB drives with Xpenology!
  8. I'd also like to know this! Anybody managed this? I've notice on this German Page someone made a plugin which if my very poor German proves correct will allow LCD4Linux to work with Xpenology so in theory somebody managed to incorporate a LCD? http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... 4qdlT0tLEg
  9. Hi guys, I'm stuck, I've got one of the HP54L machines, brand new with a WD TB red drive. I've followed your instructions on the install and it seemed to work fine for the small drive 240gb that comes with the box. I removed that one and tried to install on the 4TB one, but Synology assistant gives me a status of UPGRADING for a few seconds and then CONFIGURATION LOST. I tried 4.3 and 4.3 Beta with the same result! Anybody got any ideas?! Cheers
