You have to add "disable_mtrr_trim" in grub.cfg.
Example:
set common_args_3617='disable_mtrr_trim syno_hdd_powerup_seq=0 HddHotplug=0 syno_hw_version=DS3617xs vender_format_version=2 console=ttyS0,115200n8 withefi elevator=elevator quiet syno_port_thaw=1'
You are a genius! Worked perfect!
I have a small error when rebooting and after login DSM tells me there is an error on my harddrive (Harddrive1). But there is no error on the harddrive and nothing in the logs...? Is there something in grub.cfg like SataPortMap=1 I need to change? I have 3 disks installed.
This is not a big problem because everything is working just fine!
Thank you all for good help/job! Big thanks to @khile and @jun!
I did my setup using "Set up as new system - Keeping all files" and this worked. Except for the memory problem.
dmesg | grep -i memory
[ 0.000000] WARNING: BIOS bug: CPU MTRRs don't cover all of memory, losing 4608MB of RAM.
I've successfully installed DSM6.1 on my n54l using the guide and loader in this thread.
I've got only one problem, it's not using all memory. DSM says 16GB, BIOS says 16GB but console says 3392MB.
What have I missed? Is it possibly a driver issue? Loader issue?
Both synoinfo.conf shows:
mem_default_mb 4096 mem_max_mb 32768
Systeminfo says it's 16GB but when I try to use it in docker and virtualbox it's down to 3392MB.
Followed your tutorial on my n54l and migrated successfully from 5.2, thanks.
I discovered one problem, it seems that i cannot use all of my 16GB RAM..? Only about 3GB is available. Any idea??
Nevermind, just followed this: http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1086
Downgraded to 4.3, worked like a charm.
Reason why I wanted to downgrade, couldn't get hibernation to work with my HP54L. In 4.3 everything works, even push notification.
