  1. As a starting point I would try again with another USB stick & a fresh download of the pat file.
  2. Glad you're up & running, Which bootloader caused the issue & which one fixed it?
  3. Might help if you state the processor, network card etc & which bootloader you're using.
  4. No I've not had any problems since updating. Choosing upgrade would be correct if you were coming from DSM 5.2 or DSM 6.0.2. Mine was upgraded from 6.0.2 to 6.1.3, then update 4 when it became available.
  5. The driver for the N54L's network card is definitely in jun's 1.02b loader as my N54L is running with it right now. Do you have a spare HDD that you could try a clean install with?
  6. When it boots up without the disks what's showing in control panel, has DSM recognised update 4? Have you tried using a different USB to see if you get the option to reinstall?
  7. @gb77 jun's 1.02b loader definitely works with the N40L, as Polanskiman says just disable C1E support in the bios, reboot & upgrade to 6.1.3. After the install finishes you'll get an update notice saying that update 4 is available, you can go ahead & apply it but be warned it will reboot your system again.
  8. Yes I did change the serial no as I have 2 servers & didn't want them both the same. Looking at my grub.cfg I also removed all of the menuentry items except for menuentry "DS3615xs 6.1 Baremetal $VERSION" --class os { set img= savedefault loadlinux 3615 usb loadinitrd showtips }

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

The cpuinfo in control panel is hard coded, which is why it shows 2 cores because that's what a DS3615xs has. If your system has 4 cores they will all be used, run cat /proc/cpuinfo from a terminal window to confirm.
  10. Officially jun has stated that his 1.02b loader doesn't support AMD, However people have had success getting it to work with various AMD boards, the HP Microservers do require disabling C1E support in the bios, not sure about other AMD boards. I have a N40L & a N54L, both of which were upgraded from 6.0.2 to 6.1.3 update 4 with jun's 1.02b loader.
  11. Yes I am, no patches, just set correct vid, pid & MAC address.
  12. Not sure why it's not working then as the N36L isn't fundamentally that different from the N40L or N54L, both of which I have working.
  13. The serial No. doesn't make any difference. Try a different USB stick just to make sure it's not that.
  14. My main server (HP N54L) has 5 days uptime since applying update 4. No issues to report.
  15. Yes I'm sure. I have a N40L & a N54L both running 6.1.3 update 4 using jun's 1.02b loader. Did you set the vid, pid correctly?
  16. @ziorufus You need to use Jun's 1.02b loader if you want to install 6.1.3
  17. My N54L has now been running 6.1.3 update 4 for a couple of days without issue.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Not that I'm aware, mine is running 4 disks & doesn't appear to be using any more power than it was under 5.2.

    Glad you're up & running.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Yes Jun has stated that there isn't any AMD support in his loader but people have had success using it on various AMD systems. My N40L was running DSM 5.2 so I chose to migrate after booting from the 1.02b loader.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

The N36L should be ok as I've got a N40L running DSM 6.1 with Jun's 1.02b loader. You can download the 1.02b bootloader from here: Create the bootloader, edit the grub.conf & set the vid, pid for your USB stick. Boot the microserver into the bios & disable C1E support, then boot from the newly created USB. You should now be able to use find.synology.com to locate the server.
  22. Some info regarding the VM you're trying to setup might help, i.e. processor, memory allocated etc.
  23. You can install DSM 6.1.3 with Jun's 1.02b loader, just remember to disable C1E in the Bios & set the VID & PID of the USB stick.
  24. Did you disable C1E in the Bios, set VID & PID of the USB stick? What version of DSM were you running before trying to update it?
