Successfully updated my 8 disk Asrock C70M1-system but not without entering a valid serial/mac-pair, otherwise no IP. Btrfs was available and after making the conf-file change, also SHR was available. (see next post of Polanskiman) Accidentally my HP Proliant N54L updated itself from 8 to 9. It was still active but lost its IP. After restarting it worked again. Marvelous! I am so happy with Jun's loader!

Tried to install update 9 on a fresh bare metal install (N54L) using 1.01 loader but system was not getting an IP anymore. Have now downloaden all individual updates and started to install from Update 1 until Update 8. Everything seemed to go okay. Will not try Update 9. Btrfs is also avaulable now. Apparantly btrfs becomes available after these updates. Have 4 disks volume from a DS414 with SHR on ext4 (?). I assume I cannot put those in my N54L with Jun's 1.01 loader as it does not support SHR?

Problem with adding BTRFS option and using Jun's loader v1.01: as soon as I edit /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf. delete supportraidgroup="yes" and add support_syno_hybrid_raid="yes", then I cannot add/change the volume anymore and when I reboot the system it will cannot be accessed anymore (no IP nr). Anybody know what I might have done wrong? I login via SSH (admin + root password, then sudo su - and again password).

For those of you who planned to upgrade to DSM 6.0.2 during Christmas and could not yet get Quicknicks version to work, instead of patiently waiting for Quicknick to finish his work, you should take a look at the tutorial of Polanskiman that uses Jun's loader. http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22100 I was still using a three year old version of Xpenology version (4.3) but was able to start with Jun's loader and upgrade to the lastest version (6.0.2 using DSM). with ease. Just give it a try.

Dear Jun and Polanskiman, thank you for your efforts. Thanks to the tutorial the installation went flawless and I could upgrade from 4.3 to 6.02 (nv54l). I will use it to backup an orignal DS416Play. Your work is much appreciated! -
I have an HP Microservser N54L. I can see it booting but it does not get an IP-address and it gives an error: Terminal "serial" isn't found. Does not matter whether I select install or run configuration tool. I checked the DHCP leases: basically I checked whether there was MAC-address that started with 38-EA (HP microserver) and pinged IP-addresses of which I was not sure. Anybody experience with the N54L and failing NIC?

Does somebody use Spotweb on a Gnoboot version? If so, which version?
