Also ähnlich dem Time Bomb Problem.

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Hi, made yesterday a migration from real DS1815+ to Xpenology DS3617xs with 1.02b. Works perfect without data lost. Thats the way I made it: 1. Bring DS1815+ to FW DSM 6.1.2-15132 2. Prepare USB Stick 3. shut down both boxes 4. move 8 hard disk 6 TB WD RED from old DS to new DS 5. Boot up new DS with grub menu 2 (reinstall) 6. find new ds with finder. 7. connect to new DS. Shows me "ready to migrate" 8. Choose leave data (think menu 1 default) 9. Download PAT manual with PC and select this 10. After some minutes new DS reboots and finish. (check that grub entry 1 is selected) 11. done Hope that helps.

Is there a way to migrate a original DS1815 ( DSM 6.1-15047 Update 2 ) to Xpenology? To make sure I don't lost any data I have a backup. But a restore of 20TB needs a lot of time. So a migration without losing data is a good option. But I don't know the best way.
  5. Sorry, I mean with console a monitor connect to vga. You are right, console means in a typical way a serial terminal.... I mean, that its possible to use a real keyboard and vga monitor connected to the NAS PC. I think the old 5.x xpenology have this feature.
  6. Know somebody if Jun plan to bring the serial output back to console? With bare metal its always a nightmare to connect an additional PC to serial if something going wrong. Thx
  7. Thanks. Understand... Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk
  8. Try both mac to be odd or even last hex, dont remember. But since you said its 87 then i think its odd. The original MAC from Lun's loader is xxxxx85. I installed a second machine for test and need to change it, because same MAC at same network doesn't work. That was the reason why I count it up. Is there a relationship between MAC and Serial number? I don't want to use quickconnect. Can I use that way?
  9. Using loader 1.01. Thats right. I will now format the BTRFS disk new with ext4. The good thing is, its volume2 and my friend have a backup. SO its a quick work.....
  10. Oh, that's not fine. Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
  11. Hi, I installed several weeks before an NAS for a goot friend. Now one of two volume is crashed. volume2 (/dev/md3). I try several thinks like btrfs rescue or check. I can mount the volume by shell but the Synology Web alsways told me volume is crashed. Right now I start a smart test and told my friend to make a backup. Is there any other thinks that I can do? Why Syno told that the volume is crashed but I can mount it and use it? The RAID contains only one hard drive (Toshiba HDWE150 5 TB)
  12. agree to point 2. Have 2 NIC. mac1=xxxxxxx86 mac2=xxxxxxx87 If I boot, one NIC gets MAC 87 and the other one the real MAC. But both are working
  13. My new NAS looks good now with 1.02a and 6.1.15047 update 2. Now I bought a set of Mellanox MNPA19-XTR 10GbE to connect my ESXi with the new NAS over a second NIC. What is the best way to add a second NIC to the NAS? Edit: Find it. Its easy. I have only edit at the USB the grub.cfg and add mac2 under mac1
  14. Understand. Thanks for the link. Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
  15. Sorry, it is a P212 but only 34€ http://www.ebay.de/itm/HP-Smart-Array-P ... 1669232925 But same question. Who handle the raid. HBA or DSM?

Yes, change your mainboard battery. Thats typical for an empty one.
  17. One short question. Right now I am using a LSI 9211-8i. This have a IT firmware installed. SO the raid will be installed at DSM. If I would like to change this with a HP P440, who will handle the raid disk? DSM or P440? What is the better controller? The P440 is really cheap at ebay.
  18. Right now I collect all stuff that I have in my basement and saw that for a NAS I only need a CPU and a case. All other things are here. I order right now a i5 4570T and a SilverStone CS380. Rest that I have is 32 GB RAM (was for a different project but that dies) with a MSI Z87-G43. Hopefully CPU and Case will come next week. Than I can build up a bare metal NAS. Think the DS3615 is best image (USB) for that.

Was only a guess. I use 8 cores. With 3615 I get same error. After reduce to 4 its working. Now I use 3617 which works with 8 cores.

I get this error too in 6.1 if I use more cores than the original NAS have.

Looks good. I only saw that you use different MTU size on LAN 2. If its not working after changing MTU, I have no clue why. It can be, that Syno saw the different network card at the same network because you use same vSwitch.

No serial is needed. Please post a screenshot from your Synology network config.

How to say it simple....mmmhhh Each vm NAS need in total 2 NIC. This can be virtual and match always to the same physical NIC. Please read the Synology document for HA. If you don't see a second NIC in your Synology system network setup, HA will not work.

I don't talk about VM. I talked from Xpenology. Your virtual NAS needs 2 NIC. Do you have assign 2 NICs to each NAS? Take a look to the original doc. That shows in details how it's working https://www.synology.com/en-global/know ... nology_NAS

For a HA cluster you need 2 NIC for each machine. And a HA makes no sense if you run it on the same hardware.
