    Hp gen 8 usb drives showing as internal drive

    Hi guys

     

    I'm running arpl on a hp gen 8 microserver, model ds3622xs, dsm 7.2.1 69057 update 4 with the latest arpl release. When I insert a USB drive a message pops up saying a newly inserted drive has been detected, if I go to storage manager it's there to be formatted. Anyone any ideas how to recognise the usb drive as a usb.

    Hi guys,

     

    I've just picked up a ds918+ to replace my microserver, it loads up then when I try to format a disk I get a box saying

     

    disk_format_dialogue_input_model_content

     

    There's  a dialog box to input20240104_172846.thumb.jpg.5c046799990da57c4d8f4e3e93a6f856.jpg something but I don't know what to put. There's a button that says button:delete but the input box goes red when you press. Has anyone had this either on xpenology or genuine hardware

    Solved now I wrote the image with win32diskimager instead of balenaetcher, works fine now, thank you for all your hard work

    Hi guys I'm pulling my hair out with the loader, I've been using arpl but wanted to swap to repill with m shell. I create the loader, boot, the loader comes up then the build menu, I build based on ds3622xs  (I use gen 8 microserver with xeon cpu). I set the model, serial, mac 1 & 2, leave the rest of the settings and click build loader, the server reboots but straight to the build loader again and serial etc are wiped, what am I doing wrong.

    Hi guys

     

    Updated using arpl-i18n v23.9.7, had to reflash the usb stick, does the mac not spoof not in the Bootloader, I set the mac to use, the loader shows the mac I set but synology assistant shows the original mac Id of the network card

    Hi guys

     

    I'm running ARPL i18n using ds918+ as the model. I have 4 usb drives connected, randomly I lose the usb and the system shows the message, the system has detected a drive (drive 2x) that is not in use. The system tries to use the drive as internal. The only option I have is to rebuild the loader then I get the drives back and recover the system. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi guys

     

    I installed ds3622xs+ on my fresh system using i5 7500,originally I was running ds918+. I've noticed plex has high cpu usage when transcoding on the ds3622xs, is there a way to change the system onto a ds9xx system to see if it helps without losing data, seems like quicksync on the cpu is not supported on the 3622, is that because it is xeon based? Plex in docker also complains about missing /dev/dri.

    Hi guys

    I'm currently running ARPL(i18n) DSM 7.2, CPU is 7th gen i5, 16gb ram on a msi gaming board. The tower that the components are in is quite large and I wanted to downsize to save some space. I have seen a HP GEN 8 Microserver, xeon 1240v2, 16gb ram. Would the microserver run 7.2 with arpl? The current model on the bootloader is 918+, I was looking at running 3622 as the model.

    Hi guy, 

     

    I've updated the arpl loader to v1.1 beta 2a, running DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 4, model 3622. Everything is fine but I've found that the boot USB is showing in the shared folders of the nas. Is there any way to stop these showing

    High cpu usage docker

    Hi guys, 

     

    I'm running DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 3 with arpl v1.0 beta 11 loader, i5-7500 with 16gb ram. I am having an issue with dockerd file running high cpu usage, this is around 30% even when idle. The containers themselves are using very little when idle its just this 1 file. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi guys, 

     

    I'm running DSM 7 using arpl loader, I'm looking into adding a 1060 gtx to my BareMetal system. Would it be worth adding for plex streaming, I have 5 family members using Plex although not at the same time. Would the graphics card deal with the Plex transcoding and does it work out of the box with the ARPL loader? I currently run a i5 7500.

    I've been looking for a dual nic to setup LAG, I'm running dsm7 with the ARPL loader. I was looking at this : - 

     

    Dual-Port PCIe Gigabit Network Card PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Adapter with Intel 82576/82575 Ports PCI Express NIC Support PXE for Windows/Windows Server/Linux/FreeBSD/DOS With Low Profile

     

    Would this work out of the box or would it require drivers

    Hi guys

    I'm currently running xpenology with arpl loader, the pc I'm using has: - 

     

    Intel i5 7400

    16gb DDR4 ram

    MSI gaming m7 motherboard

     

    I can't help feeling its a bit too much for my server, I was thinking of replacing it with an hp gen 8 microserver with xeon 1265l and 16gb of ram. I run plex on the server and 8 docker containers, mainly holds movies, music and TV series, I'd welcome any thoughts on this.
